Posts: 782 | they advise you not to leave disks in any drive if they are not being used just as a precaution but no dark magic is going to hurt your disk or system if you dont.
this would be a good time to close this thread |

P.S. It is the fourth post and it was made by Pinball1974. It in NOWAY seemed serious so I dont know what this guy was thinking when he read it.

Posts: 278 | 10 minutes? No if you leave a DVD/CD or whatever in the tray it can damage the laser inside. This was said about the original Xbox.
Just remove your DVD from the 360 when you are finished, you should have no problems. |

Just remove your DVD from the 360 when you are finished, you should have no problems. | that's unnecessary, i leave a disk in all the time and haven't had disk drive related issues |

Posts: 5,094 | I leave my 360 on for days at a time in a pause menu or the load screen with very little problems. However, I did leave Hitman running on the pause menu and it burned the disc. Same thing happened to GoW but I just take the burned discs to Game Crazy and they re-surface them for free (Normally it’s 2 dollars per re-surface but for some reason they do it for free for me). |

Posts: 680 | I tell ya what, I used to leave my PS2 on for weeks and weeks at a time but since the new idea of having the on/ off button on the controller even I, the King of Lazy, manages to turn it off.

Posts: 278 | No, he means when it is off. Basically in the old Xbox there were a few consoles that when you started up the console, the disc would spin, due to the bootup and strach the disc, that was waaay back in 2001 though and MS fixed the problem back then.
Guess people just always worry!
