actually, ignore my last post. You need to be running SP2 to run WMP 11. Umm, yea check your firewall and make sure that your xbox is on the list of Ok'd 360s to access your pc.

Search the forums....there was a very comprehensive thread in here somewhere in which I amongst several others posted a ton of useful info. My advice to start off with is to A: make sure you have service pack 2, and B: Download windows connect and use that for file sharing with your 360.

^^^
Is correct you need media connect and then you can look at your firewall issues.

Xbox.com | System Use - Use a PC with Xbox 360

That is a very helpful guide for you.

There are a 2 ways you can connect your media sharing pc or media center based pc to your xbox 360.

1.Zune, Media Player, Windows Connect Now

2.Media Center

Personally I chose Media Center. Because I liek to watch movies on my 360. This is a very confusing process. First thing you need to see is if your Wireless Router is a G or better modem. G will work just fine. Now go to your xbox 360 and power it up. Leave it on the dashboard Go to your computer and go to Xbox.com | Xbox 360 Media Download Center once there click the link for the extender. Now for the confusing part. On my computer it took me about 5 times to establish a solid connection between my xbox 360 to my windows media center. you want to keep on doing this and personally i ran it and i got the error message "Extender could not connect to media center" Do not panic. I got this message and the extender was in working condition and i could acces media center from my Xbox 360. If you arrive at the network connection tuner. Let the tuner run. If it comes up with an error you have an problem. For me I took me about an hour to realize my Firewall was on. This is NOT the Windows FirewallThis may be your third party firewall. IE Trand Micro PC Cillin Internet Security is a big one. Right click and click exit. this will exit the Trend system. Once I turned this off my Xbox 360 automatically started contacting Windows Media Center and power up at the start screen. This is where my help ends. P.S My zune doe not work either I have the songs but they wont play.

On this topic...has anyone heard if the 360 can be connected to a PC running Windows Me etc?...I called Micro-soft but they informed me that this windows profile is out-dated?...I don't like XP really, it sucks ****...every-computer that I have seen that runs on it has crashed...right out of the box pratically speaking...does anyone here know if the software downloads are compatible with my windows-me?...or...is there any-way to bypass any lingo of this type of software? I havn't downloaded or attempted to install any software but if it is possble I will do it...

First off, I'd like to say that Windows ME sucks even more. The best version of Windows so far is either 95 or 98 I think... ME is just a glitchy version with a little more pizzazz. I used to have it, so I know.
Anyways, back on topic. You can't do it. There is no software made for this. If I knew how to code programs I would... What you would have to do is somehow trick your 360 into thinking that you have a certain version of WMP (10 or 11) and any other software you need. You'd also have to do some network tweaks, but I don't know the inner workings of ME well enough, only XP.

I didn't say windows-me was the best...but XP should work flawlessly regardless...and it doesn't...so IMO windows me is more stable...mind you it's not a full windows-me...it's windows 98 up-graded to windows-me...and I've never had any major issues with it yet...other than a bad system restore command etc...too bad MS hasn't issued a version so people with older windows systems can use it on the 360 too.
