Posts: 4 | Don't rule out gaming just yet. Will you be able to play all the games? Huh no. But there are some games that are playable. The most playable game you will find today is Call of Duty 3. The word is that Lost Planet plays well also, but I haven't got my hands on it yet. Battlefield 2 was playable for me back a while ago. Haven't played it in a while. Granted I was on Wildblue that "used" to get slightly better pings than Hughesnet, but now the pings are 2-4 times worse than Hughesnet(long story). But I have heard from someone that has Hughesnet that Call of Duty 3 and Lost Planet play great. There are other games out there you just haft to rent them and give them a try. Granted far less will be playable during "peak" time, because the pings will get worse. But gaming is not "totally" out of the question. O and yes it will work for game demos and updates. But the demos will probably take a while, because you will probably hit your FAP before they get completely finished downloading. But just leave it on over night or something and they will get done eventually. |
