Posts: 12 | Crackdown Achievements: How To Compete 43/43 [Incomplete] This guide is dedicated to clear up and help anyone that is unsure or is having trouble getting any of the Crackdown achievements. Feel free to add to what I have, alternate ways, etc.
As of now there are 43 achievements with a total of 900 possible gamer points. You can watch many of these achievements via the internet (YouTube), but I will not post links. Also what I say is not always the only thing to do but they are my personal recommendations and what I feel is the most beneficial. Again don’t be afraid to ask for more help or add to the stuff I have. Suggestions and criticism/comments always welcome as this is my first time making a thread (guide) like this. Agency Athlete - Run & jump your way to a 4-star Agility rating Your best/easiest way of getting this is to simply run around looking for agility and hidden orbs. You will eventually start racking up points leading to a 4 star rating. You can find a lot of the agility orbs on rooftops. To make it easier on yourself, go to a higher rooftop and then look down to see if you can see any orbs. Once you see them work your way down and collect each of them. On some of the very high rooftops in Shai-Gen you can find agility orbs that will give you loads of points because they are harder to reach. But it's best to clear one island at a time (at least what you can find) so you don't get confused. You can also get agility points by shooting people from a very high point but it's not as effective since it's not as common to happen and completing rooftop races which can be long and hard. Agency Brawler - Punch, jab, kick, and throw your way to a 4-star Strength rating This one is actually very easy to do. All you really need to do is kick (or throw objects, but it’s faster just to kick) your enemies and you should start leveling sooner than you’d expect. To do this even faster you can go to any boss and just run around killing people melee style. Just don’t kill the boss so you can keep coming back for more. And don’t worry if you get killed, just go back and continue were you left off. Agency Explosives Expert - Bomb your way to a 4-star Explosives rating Now this one isn’t so fast. First you should dedicate yourself to this other than the firearm one. (Or vise versa…) The best thing to do is get the homing rocket launcher… it’s good on ammo and almost always hits your target with an effective amount of damage. Just like the melee one you may find it faster to go to a boss and kill the gang members over and over without killing the actual boss. This should also eventually get a “gang hit squad” on you which is good. Head out to the roads and just wait for them to come in cars. Don’t hesitate to go crazy on their cars (or even the rocket launcher just to kill one person). Usually if you kill innocent members at the same time as gang members you gain more points then you loose. Note: When actually killing the boss they usually don’t move around too much. So lock onto them and throw a bunch of grenades at once as you’re lighting them up with the rocket launcher. That should also boost your levels. Agency Marksman - Hit your target every time to achieve a 4-star Firearms rating This is the other one that may take longer than the rest. Since you’re only killing one person at a time and run out of ammo quite fast you’ll be making many trips to a near supply point. Your goal is to kill every gang member you see with a gun. (Not rocket launcher.) Seriously, the less gang members you let get by alive the faster you will level up. Again it’s good to go to a boss and just kill the gang members without killing the boss. Go back many times to take advantage of the large numbers of enemies in one location. It’s best to not do this at the same time as the explosive one. Maybe switch on and off each day, but it’s defiantly easier to do one at a time. Agency Wheelman - Accelerate and slide your way to a 4-star Driving rating Either this or the melee one is the easiest out of the five… and I’m thinking this. First of all: SUV. Trust me, use the SUV when trying to level up in driving. It has good handling, fast acceleration, durable, light, and all those good qualities you need to run gang members over. Of course I’m going to recommend going to a boss and just going on a killing spree again. But this time you need to watch out for rocket launchers because they will take you out pretty fast in a car. Whenever you see large clutters of gangs run them the hell over. Your driving skills actually go up pretty fast too. But for this it’s not just killing people. You can also rack up nice chunks of points by doing backflips, rolls, frontflips, getting a lot of air, and jumping through the purple rings. And don’t forget the races which give you points... the only downside is that they can sometimes be hard and time consuming.
Bare-Knuckle Brawler - Kill 150 gang members with your bare hands (or thrown objects) Very, very easy. When trying to get the brawler achievement you will almost defiantly get this one on accident by the time you have your second star. Simply do nothing but melee for 20 minutes and you will probably get it. To speed up the process go to a boss and just kill all the gang members with your hands or thrown objects. Really, don’t even try for this one. You will just get it by playing the game. Base Jumper - Jump from the top of the Agency Tower and land in the water below Once you get to the very top of the Agency Tower, (you will know when you’re there from getting the achievement) turn to the right on a 90 degree angle. You should be looking at the right corner of where the guard rail is. Go right up to it and jump off. Don’t move away from the building too much, just point your camera view so you can see the ground and try to line up your character wit that little pond of water below. Trust me this is a lot easier than it seems and you will probably always land in the water if you know how to control your guy in the air. Body Juggler - Use explosives to keep a body up in the air for 10 seconds Your goal is to keep a dead body in mid air for 10 seconds... So how? You will need the homing rocket launcher. Once you have the homing rocket launcher go somewhere with a pretty open sky, like the beach. Kill someone. Make sure you don’t do anything to their body after they are dead because it can sometimes cause it to not work. Once you have them where you want them stand back just enough so the rocket launcher won’t hurt you but not too far away, this way you aren’t making it harder to keep in the air. Lock onto the body with the left trigger. Now shoot the body and it will go into the air and immediately shoot again. As you are holding the left trigger the whole time keep shooting it. (Not too fast... maybe 1.5 second delays.) You will have to reload which means the body will start to fall. Once you reload shoot immediately. Keep shooting it until it falls or you run out of ammo so you’re certain you kept it up for the full 10 seconds. Car Juggler - Use explosives to keep a car up in the air for seven seconds This is literally the same thing as the Body Juggler (above) only this time you want to do it with a car and for 7 seconds. You will still need the homing rocket launcher and the beach is a good spot to do this one too. For some reason I suggest using the Agency Super Car to do it. I don’t know why, that’s just what I like to use. (It doesn’t matter if the car blows up or is already blown up.) Do the same thing, only this time shoot a bit faster to assure the car does not fall to the ground. If you keep it up until you run out of ammo you probably will get the achievement. If not go and try it again. Chain Banger - Blow up 100 explosive objects in 60 seconds This is a “hard” achievement that is actually... easy! It will be easiest if you have a rocket launcher. Go to the pier at the beach. Go to the front of it (without actually getting on it) and look at the water. Now turn the camera 90 degrees to the right and you should see a whole bunch of flammable barrels behind the houses. Simply lock on and shoot the closest batch of them. They should set of all on that level. Then shoot the ones that are farther away which are probably down the stairs. If there are any left on the balconies of the houses shoot them too. Run away quickly and come back to what should be fully spawned barrels. Rinse and repeat as quick as possible. If you think you went over a minute go get more ammo and try again. Double Trouble - Double your fun - complete your first mission in Co-op mode You need Xbox LIVE and a friend for this one. When you manage to get into a game with someone else go beat a boss. You can even go by yourself as long as you are playing with another person. Once you beat the boss... boom!; achievement unlocked. Driving High - Achieve a height of 115 feet or more in a vehicle
Everyone has their own technique for this. Generally people get the truck with the ramp on the back and park it near a very high cliff then launch off it with the Agency SUV. This works if you do it in the right spots. But my recommendation is to wait until you get 4 stars in driving. Then go to Wang’s tower in Shai-Gen. (It’s probably easier if you beat Wang first.) While in the SUV face the glass pyramid at the bottom (and front) of the tower. Drive up the stairs right in front of that while holding ‘B’ then release to get on the glass pyramid. Hold ‘B’ again and start driving up the building. When you get far enough up it (115 feet) you will unlock the achievement. The hardest thing about this is you can’t stick to walls for long. So when you hear the car start to make the noise it’s going to spring off release ‘B’ and then push it again as fast as you can. If you find a co-op buddy (that is familiar with this) he can drive for you and you’ll still get the achievement. Firing Squad - Fire away - shoot and kill 500 gang members using firearms Using guns, not explosives/rocket launchers you want to shoot and kill 500 enemies thought your time playing. It’s pretty straight forward it just might take time if you don’t use guns a lot. But if you are determined to level up your firearm skill to 4 stars then you should easily get this without even knowing. Remember there are a lot of easy gang targets where bosses are located. So it’s best to go to those places. Just take your time and shoot away. First Blood - Eliminate the first of 21 gang bosses I really have nothing more to say. You can’t really get anywhere in the game without eliminating a boss. So basically you will get the achievement whether you like it or not. If you don’t understand, all you need to do is kill your first boss... Front Flipper - Execute two forward flips in a single jump in a moving vehicle
Okay... 1. SUV. 2. 4 star skill level. It is easiest to do this with the Agency SUV and when you have reached a 4 star driving level. From the Agency tunnel 1, follow the road to the beach. Right before you turn right (looking at the ferries wheel of the amusement park) move your camera to the 90 degrees to the right. If it’s the right time the truck with the ramp on the back will be parked there. (If not go back another time.) Take this truck on the beach and park it parallel to the water. Get your SUV and go very far away from the launch truck so you know when you hit it you are at top speed. As you’re on the ramp hold the right analog stick up and while in the air until you do 2 front flips. Then land on your wheels and roll away. Achievement unlocked. Free Runner - Collect 500 Agility Orbs Yikes! Self explanatory; collect all of the (green) agility orbs that can be found anywhere on the entire map. I really don’t know how to make it easy so I think for this one we can all put in our tips. The only tip I have right now is to try to find as many as you can from one island at a time so you don’t get confused. If you really can’t do it alone... go buy an official guide book! (Also note that orbs in harder to reach places will have more mini orbs stacked on top. These orbs will give you more agility points which will level you up faster.) Global Impact - Kill 15 gang members using the Observatory Globe
Another give away. The hardest part is knowing where this Observatory Globe is. (There is a video on YouTube showing you exactly where. I will explain.) When leaving Agency tunnel 2 going to Volk you will usually launch over the little rocks and down into a paved path. If you stop and turn around there will be a tunnel. Go that way and follow the path until you see the gates that you can smash through. Smash through them and drive up which will be the Observatory parking lot. Look 90 degrees to the left and you’ll see the globe. Kick it’s stand so it breaks and then pick up the globe and bring it back to the roads. Then throw it at 15 gang members. It’s best to get them point blank right after they get out of their cars. (By the way I’m not sure what level in strength you need in order to pick up the globe.)
----------------
Okay, so I did not complete this yet. That’s because I want to know if what I’m doing is helpful and if this will actually be used or just ignored. This is my first time writing something like this so feedback will be appreciated and I’ll finish if accordingly. Let me know what you think, thanks! (I know I have a bunch of type-o's, but I notice them and then never find them again... sorry.) |

Posts: 2 | Shot-putter I am not able to get the "SHOT-PUTTER" achievement.
I have tried EVERYTHING too.
I am a Master Agent so ability is not an issue.
I have tried the one I read about throwing things off bridges, etc into water and nothing.
I have even carried a lightbulb (from one of the Agency Tower doorways) to the top pillar of the Agency Tower and threw it off and still did not get it.
I was in multiplayer the other night and inside the top floor of the building with the elevator (not sure which boss was in this one, but it is the building with the red and black dome on to, next to Wangs building) and my co-op partner threw something and got it... I immediately threw something exactly the same place and got nothing.
Is this a glitch or something??? |

Posts: 1,068 | Make sure you're using the R trigger to throw. I've found that the best object to use is a dead body. So go on top of that building you talked about (next to Wang). Kill somebody. Get the body. Make sure the place you're throwing at doesn't have any buildings that will stop the body short or anything. Now aim nice and high, get a running start, jump, and throw.
Hope that works for you.

Posts: 2 | Finally! I was FINALLY able to get this one by going to the top of Wangs building and kicking over a lamp post. I picked up the lamp post and threw it off the roof.
I also noticed that it was the first thing I have been able to "see" all the way to the ground. Maybe you need to have it in view for the entire 205 feet?
Also throw it usng the right trigger button and not the "B" button while in a jump. |

Posts: 1,068 | If you press the start button, go to the category that says "Achievements". There will be a listing of all of the achievements. Scroll down to where it says Rampage. Under that, there will be a list of challenges you'll need to complete in order to get the achievement. It's things like, kill 15 people with explosives in 60 seconds. Or pop 20 tires on enemy vehicles in 60 seconds.

Posts: 1,068 | There's an even easier way to do it. At the exact same place, there's a little place that elevated about a story above the sand, it's like a circular platform with a building on it. Surrounding this building are dozens of explodable cans. Shoot one and all of them blow up. About a second later, they'll respawn, repeat. In less than 10 seconds you'll have the achievement.
