3 red lights..............

Hi guys lol yes this is a typical red light help me thread i was watching a dvd (not on the 360) and suddenly 3 red lights flashed well knowing i bought it (without the warrenty stupid me

) so i pulled it out of the power point and its fine now what do u think is wrong with it?? it still works but yeah i always keep it unplugged when im not using it as a procaution but any suggestions on what u think is wrong?

Same here, but mine is starting to worry me..........had a red light flash, but then it was fine.......stupid technology............One day it will rise against us, like in los angeles 2029 AD....*erm*Terminator

From my understanding, the 3 red lights is a Power issue. The box isnt getting the power it should be getting. Which is why that Nyko Intercooler didnt do well, it restricted the power going to the xbox. If you get the 3 red lights and you have the intercooler on the back, try taking it off and playing without it. I did that and I have had no problems since.

i rang MS and they said send it to them they will fix it under the 12 month warrenty i didnt know about lol and its all freeeeeee but the bad news is it take more than 3 weeks not to long i suppose also im getting XBOX LIVE soon and i dib that namertag name!!!! LOL HA

i had four red lights come on but i had a lose connection with one of the wires out back. but once i pkugged it in it was fine kind of a scary moment tohugh

I get red lights all the time, give your console a good kick then it sometimes works. Or you get a kicked in console and you cry

I got the three red lights, for the first last weekend, after I had just installed the HD DVD player attachment. I called MS cust. service and the guy had me remove the harddrive and restart. It worked, so I then powered off and reattched the hard drive. I was told that my hard drive was most likely having an issue and I would probably have to replace it soon. I figured I would try to stick it out, but it happended again yesterday while I was trying to watch an HD movie. I called MS again, but this time I was told I had to send it in for repair at a cost of $139.00 since I've had it over the year warranty period. They didn't even offer me any trouble shooting tips. Flat out wanted to charge me for the repair fee. Didn't even bother asking me to remove the hard drive to see if that was the problem. Actually, I tried that before I called, but it still didn't work. I asked if there were any know issues with the HD DVD drive, since I had just installed it, and he said NO.

I just read this thread and have removed the cooler attacment. I have my 360 powered up now and seems to be OK so far. Thanks for the tip! Does anyone know anything else about the flashing (3) red lights?? Any know issues with the HD DVD drive?? Hopefully it was only an issue with the cooler / fan.

The 3 red lights usually point to a power problem. Always check the light on your power supply when you have problems. The light should always be green when the console is running.

An organge light indicates standby mode - so if your console is having problems (i.e. 3 red lights) and the light is orange then your power supply connection likely isn't secure. Just remove it and reinsert it... should fix. If not - the console is likely at fault (service).

A red light indicates that the external power supply is at fault. It likely means it has overheated - so just unplug it and allow it to cool. If the red light doesn't go away - the power supply may be faulty and in need of replacement.

Never had a single red light as of yet. Hopefully i won't experiance these for a long time

I got them a couple of times when I first got my 360. After a restart it was fine. This was prior to attaching the intercooler. Since then I have had only a few freezes here and there. Not that I am advocating the intercooler or if that was even what "fixed" it for me. Just my experience. Good luck~
