Xbox Live Chat Leads to Arrest
By: G.I. Staff
For: Game Invasion
An Ohio high school was locked down after an unnamed middle school student told a California teen during an Xbox 360 Live chat on Monday that he would bring a 9 mm pistol to class. That teen's father alerted the FBI.
Teays Valley High School, in Pickaway County, Ohio, was closed after other reports surfaced that a student intended to bring a weapon to school.
"Our suspicion is that the incident trickled over to the high school," Teays Valley Superintendent Jeff Sheets told WBNS-TV.
Administrators say they've taken precautions and questioned students about the details surrounding the threats. The 13-year-old middle school student involved in the initial investigation was taken into custody and charged with inducing a public panic.
The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office said that a search warrant was executed, and the Xbox, a firearm and other items were seized.

They're the ones responsible for keeping guns out of their kids hands and for teaching them to act appropriately in public (yes, Live is public). I've never agreed that movies, music, or video games are the problem, only the parents.

Criminals have guns, why cant the good citizens?
I agree, its not the movies, the games, or anything else, its lack of parenting and knowledge of what your kid is doing, and with whom. |

I agree, its not the movies, the games, or anything else, its lack of parenting and knowledge of what your kid is doing, and with whom. | If my Government is bullying me by keeping me safe on the streets then hey I dont mind being a victim. Its sad but true that your kids are far more likely to get shot in the face than mine. (p.s when I say your kids I mean american kids in general not just YOUR kids)
In a single year, 3,012 children and teens were killed by gunfire in the United States, according to the latest national data released in 2006. That is one child every three hours; eight children every day; and more than 50 children every week. And every year, at least 4 to 5 times as many kids and teens suffer from non-fatal firearm injuries. (Children's Defense Fund and National Center for Health Statistics)
American children are more at risk from firearms than the children of any other industrialized nation. In one year, firearms killed no children in Japan, 19 in Great Britain, 57 in Germany, 109 in France, 153 in Canada, and 5,285 in the United States. (Centers for Disease Control) BUT HEY THOSE KIDS LIVES WERE WORTH IT HUH? JUST SO YOU CAN BUY A DICK EXTENTION!
That may be the case in your country bud. But the overall level of gun crime in the UK is very low – less than 0.5% of all crime recorded by the police. and 95% of that is gang and drug related so I feel pretty confident next time I get in a fight it will be settled like men not pu$sys shooting eachother because they cant fight for $hit.
So lets recap
0.5% overall crime in the UK is gun related, 95% of which is gang/drug related.
5,285 Kids in the United States.

| | | Im also glad Guns are illegal in my country. makes for a much safer and peacefull place and life.
Yes humans are humans and will always kill each other and rob each other and so on...
But with most people not having access to guns makes it very good for a country lowers the death rate specially with kids and familys with guns like the US.
You say the US people have a righ tto bear arms and all that yet i dont think you do, you need to be responsible and smart enough to own a gun and even then its dodgy, but as we all see by news and stats about deaths and gun deaths we all know alot of US people aren't capable of owning guns and shouldnt be allowed near them as they clearly cant control them or keep them safe. | |

Posts: 1,078 | That was rather unnecessary shane32Eire. Think about it. America has one of the most diverse populations in the world. This among other things can lead to more gangs and such and thus more violence. If Americans have access to weapons such as guns, then of course there will be more deaths. Most people don't think based on an honor system, they think that if somebody crosses them, they die, who cares how? Got a gun? Even easier (for the police, too).
Based on the figures that Eazy_D gave, that's even true in Great Britain. It's just they don't have nearly as much access to guns.
Sure there are the parents who have guns and can't keep them locked up. Sure there are accidental deaths from guns. But that makes up for less than 3% of gun deaths in the United States. So it doesn't have much to do with people being irresponsible with their guns and kids. It has more to do with the level of violence in countries such as the US with our stupid laws.
I am all for the ban of firearms though. When that happens it will be quite a celebration for all nations.
