US 360 vs JAP 360

I am moving to Japan at the end of february and I would like to buy a 360. I wanted to know if it would be better to buy one in the US or in Japan? The only thing that i know is that it is cheaper in japan. Also, I heard that most US 360 games are not region coded so i could play them on a Japanese 360. Is this true or false? Please help with all the Pros and Cons from both sides.

Meh, I'd buy a 360 in Japan, since I'd be living there.

Region encoding is up to the developers and at this point, it really hasn't been an issue. I would buy the 360 in Japan at this point. Just be forewarned that some titles may never reach that populous. Also, do you speak Japanese? Because the titles you do get my have voice-over in Japanese...

I do not speak Japanese. I also wonder whether or not, my xbox live will be the same or if it will connect to like a Japanese server where i can not contact my friends. I will also want to buy halo 3. Does anyone know if it will be region coded?

For DVD's anyway Japan and North american are both NTSC while the rest of the world is PAL if thats what you mean by region encoding then you should be fine either way because they are the same for Japan and NA

Yeah, either way would be fine, but I would get one from Japan.
