i own a ps3 and wondering why not a 360

I know nobody her wants to hear or see ps3, but I am a ps3 owner reaching out for advice. I need quality games and reasons to sell my ps3 and get a 360. The main reason I went for ps3 was free online gaming, but it's just not seeming like I made the right choice. Please tell me trading ps3 for 360 is the best way to go. I have a bad feeling the ps3 is going to be the next dreamcast which I was dumb enough to buy that one as well.

the dreamcast was an awesome machine. sega just made some bad mistakes w/ it.

there are a bunch of reasons to choose 360 over a ps3
Price
cheaper games ($60 vs $70) in some cases
most all games that were soley for PS are now for both, or even soley for MS
more games
360 actually has more graphical power than a ps3
more accessories, buy what you want, not forced to buy what you dont need.
100X better online. trust me, 50 a year is a deal w/ this service
movie and TV downloads.
the 360 can multitask better than PS3 (u can play your own background music on the 360, not on the PS3)
many other reasons im too lazy to list today

Remix hits all the good points. I myself am an avid 360 owner and player. However, that said, I do plan to buy the PS3 - once they come out with some games I want for it. WipEout PS3 is one of them. I don't feel that PS3 is dead, for geez, it's only been out for - what? - two months? What were the launch titles for the 360? Remember everyone bitching about how the 360 sucks because it has no games? I myself had a 360 and played Hexic till the break of dawn (baby got it goin' on) - until finally about 5 months later OBLIVION came out. I still only own four games.

Yeah, there will be games that have become non-exclusive, but, ...whatever.

So, what I am saying is - if you are strapped for cash and don't want to wait, then sure go trade it for a 360. But, if you can handle the money - keep it and get a 360 too.

Also, as for getting the PS3 for 'free online gaming'. Well, on this one I have to slap your wrist for not doing enough research... If THAT'S why you chose the system, then, uh... hummmmm.... 360 is $400 + 4 years of XBLive = $200. Then $400+$200 = $600 ...or a PS3. That's just the simple math.

That's to speak nothing about the impending charges that individual software companies are going to charge to play on their servers - as opposed to XBLive where the structure is all there and complete.

I digress...

I have both and enjoy both very much. But, right now there is just not much going on for the PS3. I am sure that will change question is how long to you want to wait. There are several threads around here about he PS3 and PS3 vs. 360 if you are looking for some good info. So to keep this short, if I had to tell you (or anyone) to get just one at this point in time. It would be the 360 by a long shot. Top reasons would be 160+ games vs. few and Live. If you have never used xbox live I can only say it can not in any way be compared to what the PS3 has. Just a totally different level.

yea, PS3 will come around, if you can afford it buy a 360 too, but reasons that the 360 is better would be basically the things that everyone else has listed

Both the consoles are capable of very similar things, just buy the one with the games that you want

I bought my 360 in January of last year and have not regretted that decision for a second since. The PS3 will never match Xbox Live. Also there is so much more to come with the 360 in the future. For example its ability to be an IPTV box in the future, voice recognition is coming some time this year. The future looks quite bright for the 360.

Kaz Hirai taking over day to day operations of the PS3 will save sony. but im still not buying one untill they give a few good reasons too. Resistince is not enough.

But if you already have the PS3 keep it.
