Posts: 841 | I have not put my copy in yet, but if it only does it with that game there could be a problem with the disk. If you can, you might consider exchanging it for a new one.
Also, I see this is your first post so welcome to the site!

Posts: 841 | There doesn't have to be any visible marks on the disk to cause this. Although it is not the norm, it does happen. I know others around here are currently playing the game so maybe one of them will post a response for you.
I have a problem with starting a new game before I finish the previous one and right now Lost Planet is 3rd on my waiting list. So it might take me a while to get to it. Good luck, I hope you get it working.~

Posts: 57 | yes, it is def my disk. My boyfriend got it me off the internet so looks like i'll be sending it them back in exchange for a new one. typical though, i ordered mine same time as my boyfreinds mates, but his works bloody fine! ive had lots of trouble with xbox....when i first purchased it at xmas i had to take it back because the disk drive went and scratched my oblivion disk to bits...they swapped the xbox and the disk for me though. Now my bloody game's dmaged as soon as i get it and mine seems to be the only fkn one too |

Posts: 841 | Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Hopefully things will get better for you. One suggestion is to keep your 360 in the horizontal position rather then vertical. While it is made to stand vertical it seems even the slightest movement can shred a disk. Not sure if that applies for you or not, but something to keep in mind.
Good luck~

I'm new and just wanted to say hi. My copy of Lost Planet, been playing for just a week and not all that often, has frozen a few times as well. Right now I'm friggin stuck on Mission 3 and the VS, firecracker or something like that, keeps blowing me away after I make it across the snow plain and that god aweful worm. Any advice for putting this guy down. I'm not the best gamer in the world but have tried everything I can think of and just really get killed very quickly. Part of the problem seems to be when I get nuked, I get hit 1-2 more times before I can even get up! I don't mind difficult but this is really starting to piss me off Been enjoying the game besides that...
Thanks |

Posts: 8 | It's rare, but it happens. Yes, our beloved manufacturers make a programming error. Despite our tendencey to be lazy and not go 3 feet from our doorstep, we must make that plunge into the outside world to return games and buy new ones. It's a sacrifice, but I know you can all do it. Your not alone.
Sudden urge to make joke: Are you sure it didn't freeze because the game takes place on a frozen planet? |

Posts: 57 | Hey ppl! Well, i have fixed my Lost Planet, and it turns out it wasnt the disk. I have hunted the internet and came across other ppl who have expereinced the same problem with their lost planet and i found a link on how to clear your Xbox's cache, which also gets rid of game updates that are available on xbox live. i used the update for lost planet and i seriously think thats what the problem was with it, because now ive cleared my cache and got rid of update, it doesnt freeze anymore! I can now enjoy playing this ace game again!

Posts: 1 | Tried all the ideas listed in these threads and in the end I just kept playing and replaying and finally it did not freeze and it did let me finish. For me there was no magic bullet that fixed the problem. It froze on the green eye level a few times, it froze on level 10 many times. After trying the buffer / cache / memory clears, and checking for over heating, and cleaning the disk, the problem always reapperared. Only thing I did not try was deleting all my saved Lost Planet games. Oh well, will see what this system does with other games...... |

Posts: 57 | It has still froze on me a couple of times...but it's not as bad as it was. I must say, this is the only game that has froze on me so far...what did annoy me, was that after getting rid of the update, it sort of re-updated itself without even asking me first! So yeah...i ahd to clear my cache again the otehr day, only this time i also unplugged my cable for xbox live so it cant update again. |
