How to hook up your 360 without wireless AND without using really long cords? Hmmmmm... seems like those are the only two options.

The phone jack in the room is nice, if the XBox could do dial-up.

Seems pretty impossible to me since you don't want
a) long Ethernet cables
b) wireless
c) can't run dial-up like nachos said anyway

The microsoft xbox router works really well so you should definitely consider going wireless.

Yes you can just hook it up to a router. Just connect and the 360 will do the rest of the work.

Is your phone jack capable of connecting an ethernet cable and if so does it connect to your router?

Otherwise you would have to buy a long ethernet cable depending on how far your room is. If you do that i suggest drilling holes in the wall or sealing and guiding it to your router so it will be inside your wall and not on the floor.

Example would be runnig it across the adick to the room were your router is.

Just as the others have said, you have two options.

1. Go wireless. You will need a wireless router on your computer and a wireless adaptor on the 360. Easy, clean, but will cost you a few hundred between the router and adapter

2. Wired. Run a long Cat5 cable (Home Depot sells it off a spool) either down the hall and through the room to your 360, or get it snaked through the walls. If you have to hire someone to do this odds are it would be just as much if not less to go wireless.

Or move your 360 set up to the same room with the router. I would not count this as a real option, but depending on your setup might work for you.

Good luck~

I do believe I would have to agree with everyone else on their opinions, as everyone else stated get a wireless adaptor on the 360, get an uber long cable which is sold at most places that have phone cords and such, maybe home depot or wal-mart. When my computer liked Live I just moved my console to the computer room and used it there for live since I was cheap and unwilling to buy a wireless adaptor.
