BBC show Watchdog to investigate Ring of death

According to Gamesindstury.biz a BBC show named Watchdog will air a show tonight about the XBox 360 and its hardware problems. I was not able to find it for my local listings but maybe someone else will have better luck...

Is it possible its just about the ones the Europeans received? I don't have one yet, but i have 3 or 4 friends with a 360 and they haven't had any problems, with the exception of a crashed Oblivion game every now and then. Is there more to be worried about?

I would not say worry about. But the 360 has proven to be very temperamental. I believe the number of problems people are having is going down. But for a while it was pretty common to hear someone having to send the unit in. Right now you get a year warranty from MS. A lot of stores offer a replacement plan as well for some additional money. If that is an option, I would get one of them. Good luck~

Not concerned. Over one year, no ring of death as of yet. My cronies report the same -- so that'd be 8 of us total.

I had to send mine back in Novemeber one of the fans in the 360 stopped working. And MS ended up replacing it.

I bought mine in December of `05. I'm pretty sure the warranty is over. I think you need to convince yourself that not all 360s were defective.

Never had to call MS for anything, or even deal with them for anything (including PC). It seems a daunting task, like trying to get a hold of someone at the DMV or IRS.
