Posts: 447      |  so ya.. everytime i buy a new game and play it for a couple hours then shut off my xbox to take a break it makes a weird grinding noise. then when i turn it back on to play again when i play for about an hour or so it makes the grinding noise again and the xbox goes quiet and a message pops up saying unable to read disc. then i clean the disc and it works fine but it ssut happened with guitar hero and ive cleaned the disc like 5 times and i keep getting the same message. anyone have this same problem?

Posts: 2,344  | Shadow ninja. i have the same problem. My GOW game has barely any scratches and the message still pops up after i basically break my back to clean it. I think it's the disc because all my other games work fine, sometimes. I think the secret here is not to leave your discs lying around, like i did cuz i was too lazy to put them back lol. I just don't see how leaving a disc lying around can make it unuseable. In your case, it could either be the laser, or the disc. I think that the disc is the issue. Exchange for a new one maybe. It sucks because usually for me it's the good games that always get the messages and the scratches. Karma.
