Angry Flushing 55 down the toilet. . . .

I recently bought Gears of War for my first game on 360
I WAS ASTONISHING, WONDERFULL, FUN, and just amazing.

yet i was stupid enough to place my 360 vertical , and tipped it over while the game was running, and you know what that means. . . . a HUGE scratch on your CD, that is a ring around the outer edge.

now my disc cannot be read and I am sad. . . . . .

is it beyond repair? has this happened to anyone else?

and no i forgot to keep the receipt, so i cannot return it.

You could maybe try repairing the disc using a "disc repair kit" of sorts. If thats fails I heard if you ring Microsoft up and tell them they will replace the disc, though this could be complete rubbish

Edit: Have a look at this may be your best bet ^^

The SECOND day i had gears of war i did the same exact thing. i got up suddenly to get the phone thinking i was wireless. i had forgotten my play and charge kit was in it. The 360 shook made a loud noise and i quickly turned it off. The disk had a huge scratch on it. The guy at best buy let me return it since i had just purchased it.

Game Crazy will resurface any game for $2 ... Saved a bunch of my games using them. I'd rather pay $2 for a quick 5 minute repair then buying another $60 game.

You can send a disc in to the manufacturer to have it replaced. Not sure of the cost, but it can be found in the fine print on the manual.

I hope that never happens to mine. But I have it standing next to something so I should be safe.

Very authoritative post Thor. I do agree that you should be in the clear being that it is standing next to "something".
