Instant messager

I just downloaded the update and was excited to try out the new messenger feature in the dashboard. I went to sign up and it said that I must be 18 to use it. Now I'm 16 and I'm kinda piss off that they would do this to me. This makes it pointless because I would bet that half of xbox live users are under 18. Do u guys know any way to change this or I'm I just going to have to wait and see if they come out with an update to fix this?

I'm glad I grew up before the V Chip, parental controls, and all that but I'm glad they are there for my child. Crazy I know.

well said, im glad i grew up before all this stuff too, but i also dont understand why so many of you guys actually declared that you were underage when signing up for you email address

lol, im 14 but i put my age as like 24 or something because i new there would be issues like this. I thought perhaps i wouldnt be able to download content for games with ratings like GOW which is an 18, so i just lied about my age.

The IM is ****e!! You have to use email u registered with the 360 when u got it, i aint using that old email address. MS are stupid not letting u choose a email, shower of retards...

Yes, I've been busted. I keep it handy when people state a particular person is being a muppet then I bust it out and show them your posts .... They usually change their opinion afterwards.
