Default 007 goldeneye

I was thinking about my old N64 and I thought of 007. I think it is one of the best first person shooters ever and would do good on xbox live arcade. Since Rare made the game I think there's a good chance of this happening since ms owns Rare. What do you guys think will it ever happen? would you buy it?

i was actually just reminiscing about this game and how badass it was, being (at that time) a huge doom fan on pc, i thought its was soo easy to simply pick up and play and be there for hours, i actually remember acting sick for a whole week (and getting away with it ) to play this masterpiece. I honestly haven't felt this way about a console shooter in years, that is up untill i played the demo for blacksite: area 51....

How much data could those N64 cartridges possibly hold? Now that the Arcade limit is 150mb, games like Goldeneye might be in the works. One can only hope.

i would of thought the N64 carts held more than 150mb but thats an uneducated guess, i'm just making assumptions based on the other games on the arcade, i dont see any that are close to goldeneye or any other 64 games, they all seem to be from the SNES etc, but i hope to god that your right because i'd love to see goldeneye on the XBLA, multiplayer and all

I'm just making a guess on the cartridge size too. I don't know, but I thought 150mb might be close. Back when the N64 was out, having a 150mb hard drive in your personal computer was massive storage LOL.

N64 Carts ranged from 32MBit, to 512 MBit. The only 512 game I remember being release was Resident Evil 2. I believe Golden Eye was dropped on a 256 cart, and the real size was around 210-215MBits... Only 26 mb if I remember my math correctly.

Even better, its only 96Mb (12MB).. According to Wiki though, rights are all screwy, with Activision and Rare both holding rights.

I did go back and play this game last year, and... I prefer my memories to actually playing it now. We've been spoiled with these newer games. And although Golden EYe helped catipult FPS games on the console, resurrecting it isn't that good of an idea, as it'll just ruin those fun memories. I kid you not.

You bring up a good point, Grindy. I just experienced the same thing with Double Dragon.

Although Goldeneye was a great game at the time. It's better to just remember the good memories and let it go. I've played it recently and it was just 'Meh' to say the least. It sort of scarred my good memories a bit.

Just leave the game where it was, in our hearts. And don't try to dig it back out only to be dissapointed. It was a good game back then, not so much now.
