Posts: 3,238 | My best guess, without being in the same room as your 360, is a fan. There's not a lot mechanical inside besides the fans and DVD system. I've had bad luck with PC fans, so that's my first guess. Sorry, but I don't have a fix for you. If it was mine, and out of warranty, I'd open it up, but I don't recommend you do that unless you are very comfortable doing so, and willing to accept the risk of permanently damaging your console. Opening it up may reveal something obstructing the fans blades, or it might be totally pointless if a bearing in the fan is bad.
Has anyone else encountered this?
