Posts: 522 | BETA impressions ..how is it i personally wasn't a complete h2 buff. That was due mostly to the fact that i got in to it late even though i really enjoyed H1. H3 beta really stunned me a well balanced game with a great look. Bungie really succeeded in giving us 3 maps that are interesting and completely diffrent from eachother and really complementing diffrent gametypes well. F ex. Highground is perfect for territories and CTF just because of it's normandy invasion feel. Valhalla is amazing for one bomb matches where you either try to plant a bomb or try to prevent the other team doing so. Snowboung is a great map for VIP just because there are a few places you can hide and the map isn't too large.
There are a few new gadgets aswell which proved quite useful bubbleshield is great cuz it sometimes creates confusion with grenades and shooting often you end up depleting you ammo and then thinking ''oh wait dammit they can't go through that thing''. My favourite however was the trip mine which sounded like a gimmick but really the satisfaction you het from sticking that thing on to a speeding wathog is so great.
All n' all a good show by bungie |

There's no other word for it. Maps
Bungie has chosen well for the Beta.
High Ground is the first map I played and you can instantly tell it has some Zanzibar, Lockout and Ivory Tower roots. It's great for all gametypes, but specifically single flag CTF and Territories. My favourite of the new ones.
Snowbound is an open map (not normally maps I like) but they have put enough elevation into it that you can use some strategy to out-wit the enemy. The two bases are a good distance apart and the doorways are inspired! This is the best looking of the 3 maps, but you don't have time to stare at the scenery as the action never stops on this map.
Valhalla is a rival for Coagulation as favourite for larger capacity gametypes. The Man-Cannon really reduces the time that it takes to traverse the map and gets you back into the fight withing 3 seconds of you dying (unlike Coag which could take 20 seconds once you'd found a replacement for that damn SMG). It's a really pretty map and is great for the Sniper/Spartan Laser. This is the one map where the AR is fairly redundant but is a good back-up weapon for a Sniper or BR. Weapons MA5C Assault Rifle - Reduced clip from the MA5B of Halo:CE but improved accuracy and slightly increased rate of fire. Very useful for Short-medium range attacks. BR55 Modified - The Battle Rifle is basically the same as Halo 2 Covenant Carbine - Basically a low-powered sniper rifle now. Similar power to the BR but I find it has better accuracy...for me, anyway. Plasma Rifle - My friend has returned! After a brief spell as an under-used, under-powered weapon on Halo 2 it is now back and more bad-ass than ever. It glows brightly to show it means business, and boy does it pack a punch. The over-heat rate is slower and the fire rate is faster. Needler - What the hell?! What a transformation from the joke weapon in the Halo universe to one of the most powerful short-medium range weapons. Fire rate is fast, damage/needle is insane (only about 5 needles needed to kill). Spartan Laser - I thought this would be an over-powered weapon but it's turned out to be a great addition and welcome alternative to the Jackhammer Rocket Launcher on the maps. It takes around 3-4 seconds to charge, but once it does it has perfect accuracy and almost infinite range (across any map) and since it's light, it travels at the 300 million metres/second....fast in other words!. M41 "Jackhammer" Rocket Launcher - Return to Halo 1 form with slow moving rockets and no lock-on feature. Spiker - Redundant weapon as Dual-weilding isn't really necessary anymore. If there's two there I pick them up but on their own they are pretty useless. Spike Grenade - My new favourite grenade type. The grenade physics have been returned to Halo 1 style so you have to arc the grenade alot to get any distance therefore stickying over long distance isn't easy - but is still possible. SMG - Faster rate of fire, and more damage per bullet but with the reduction in Dual-wielding it's not used very often. Plasma Pistol - Virtually no Tracking (like Halo:CE) so the "noob combo" is alot less effective, which is great news for Halo fans. Sniper Rifle - As has been the form for Halo 3...sniping is like Halo:CE. Swipe-sniping is still possible but it takes luck plus serious skill. Having someone on Sniper duty is still imperitive to controlling a match.
Overall Halo 3 is shaping up to be the best game I've ever played and ladies and gents...I think we've found our Game of the Year.
...GTA-what? |

Posts: 3,184 | shane, I know I'm the biggest Halo fan on the site but really, seriously, this game is GODLY. The multiplayer is just so competitive, addictive and balanced. Rent Crackdown for a few days and try it out. You'll love it, I know you will.
It has matched and out-done the hype created by the community. People are crying about the graphics but they are really pretty in my opinion.
Well done Bungie for creating the worlds best multiplayer for the THIRD time in a row. |

Posts: 2,248 | I love it and I am not a Halo fan for once the game seems balanced. Only bad thing is first game I played I ran in to the trypical 12 year olds swearing like sailors. That is what stopped me from playing Halo 2 online was that fact.
