Gears Update

I've heard rumors that their will soon be new achievments for GoW. Anyone know when this is going to happen?

I might as well answer your question before the legions of Gears bashers swarm to this thread. There is no current release date for the update, but Epic has said that it will be before the new maps are made free(september 25).

i hope the update adds some fresh breath to the game. it's without a doubt my favorite game of all time, but i am getting a little bored.

plus, they're going to fix the roadie run!!!! thank god.

Who knows how the roadie run fix is gonna go. I'm not putting too much faith into it, seeing as how they were suppose to fix it last time. It's been a problem that has plague Gears for quite some time. More joystick sensitivity when near the walls? Less? The best way to honestly fix it is to add the option for the player to choose in the options menu. Some people like it the way it was before, some like it now, some want something new. Just offer all roadie runs as possibility! So you can accommodate for each type of gamer and what they feel most comfortable with.

you know, i never found the first version of the run to be problematic. sure you'd get stuck on walls once in a while, but it was easily avoidable.

how about making it so you can't go into cover if you're roadie running. you would have to let go of the A button and press it again to slide into cover.

I never found the first version that problematic either. But I guess alot of people were complaining, and Epic decided they needed to change it. The newest version is much worse than the original. Now I get stuck on walls all the time!

Dom, your way isn't bad. Maybe they'll do something like that.

I bought them about 3 weeks ago, and they are nice. 3 out of the 4 are great! Process is o.k..

pneumatic - That sucks you have to wait until September. That is a ways away.

Yeah. i heard that there wil be two new guns (!!!!!), new achievements for the game (like for annex matches maybe), and possibly two new maps. ROCK ON!!!

yeah. they will become free on Sep. 25. its because epic wants to try and counter the halo 3 launch. maybe they should do more though, like release an expansion pack for the game too.

meh... i also heard a rumor that GoW 2 will be realeased this fall. So they can counter halo. I doubt it though, to quick for number douse

I want it to be impossible to stick to cover while running, at most if you hit something while running it should drop you out of roadie run into a standing position, at best it should let you continue running as you slide along the object so you can run along cover then around it and on to your target.... Also When rolling backwards you should not automatically stick to any wall that you touch as if you are taking cover.
