Viva Pinata. Not quite as intense as the 3 stonespike mentioned, but just as enjoyable - if you can get past the cuteness.

Edit: Stonespike added to his list since I commented. Only the first 3 are worth your time. Dynasty/Samurai Warriors and Star Trek were very, very poor, to be polite.

If you are looking for some cheap ways to scratch that strategic itch, they have a few games on arcade for $10 a piece (800 MS points)

I got DW5 Empires for 35 bucks sans case and manual and I regret it every day.
