I'm going to jump off topic for a sec- if you spelled "beta" as "byta", then you're probably a noob. Not a horrible thing, but it justify's my help to you. And just like Brutality stated, we need more information than that.

Such as:

Has your console ever been sent into Microsoft for repairs?
Have you had any issues w/your console in the past?
Did you download the "beta" correctly? And how so? Crackdown or Invite?
Do other demos & downloads work correctly? Is it just Halo 3 beta?
Have you tried checking out The Halo 3 Beta Help Forums?

Yes he shouldnt have spelt it wrong, but you cant fix thread spellings only mods can(and for some reason havnt yet) so give the kid a break,

were you trying to cut corners and rent crackdown to play the demo? only one 360 per crackdown will work. so someone else might of beat u 2 it.

imo the halo 3 beta was a big let down for me, i wasn't impressed with it, my expectations where too big for the game.
