Posts: 19 | Achievements???? do ya'll think that people try so hard to get achievements and gamerscore not to show it off but to prove to themselves they can actually achieve something in life or prove they can at least accomplish a hard goal?

| | | Sitting in front of a screen mashing buttons on a controller is not achieving a goal, and the word 'hard' doesnt even come into it.
And the thought of proving they can beat goals when talking about video games is retarded, i play games, I enjoy it, its a relaxing past time i have to get away from the real world, but that type of talk is crazy. | |

Posts: 2,442 | i like achievements. i dont normally get that close to 1000 achievements for a game, but it lets me know how much i have left to play and maybe stuff that youve missed (collect all blabla's) and stuff like that. It also helps me remember how many frikkin games ive played.. ghawd! its a list!

Posts: 3,238 | I don't look at achievements as a goal to beat in order to feel better about myself. I look at them as challenges, and devices to add replay value to a game. I may find myself trying a game mode, weapon, or vehicle I wouldn't have tried otherwise, because of an achievement. I don't try to beat every achievement offered, but every game has one or two that adds value that the Wii and Sony fanfools don't get.

Posts: 40 | I defiantly think that most people try hard to get achievements simply to show off their Gamerscore. For example, me and my friend right this second are have a contest to see who can get the highest Gamerscore. Also sometimes when I'm in a lobby of GoW, people will look at other peoples Gamertags and make fun of their Gamerscore, so I think most people do try to get a high Gamerscore just to show it off, and not just to feel like they've accomplished something.

Posts: 103 | i think the achievement system is a good aspect of the 360, although some of the achivements are unbeliveably hard to get, i know they shouldn't be easy to get but some of them are just rediculous.

Posts: 57 | My over all goal was to get over 2000, haha. It's a threshold for me not to feel sorry for myself. I don't see many people over 3000 so I found it to be a good spot. There's no accomplishment in life its jus a fun challenge. Like solving a jig-saw or doing a Sudoku. You do it for fun.

Posts: 180 | I dont know what else I can say about this topic. I myself get them when I get them, I do like to see what I did when I got them but I can't say that I try to get them. You can get most of them by just playing the game. |

Posts: 134 | im not really bothered by gamescore. When i play a game i play for the fun of it, not to try and show off, (mostly cos i aint got xbox live) but also i see that if a person has a huge gamescore, they probably spent all summer playing on the xbox instead of being outside having a social life. (No offence to anyone who has got a big gamescore) |
