Default Broken power source

Hey guys, well I registered here because I have a question about the 360 power source.
Well I've had my 360 for some months now, but about 2 months ago my stupid cousin plugged in the 360 in a 220V power switch. I know that the 360 only supports 110V.
Right when he plugged it in the little light from the power source that's normally orange turned to purple for a second and then it made a weird noise as if it broke and then my 360 never worked again.

Well my question is:
Is there any way that I can fix the power source? or am I just gonna have to buy a new one? If there's any way to fix it please tell me, maybe you could fix the transformer or something.
Or in the worst case, did my 360 also brake?

By the way I can't call Microsoft because I bought my 360 in the US and I'm now living in Brazil so the warranty is voided.

Please help with this as I'm not sure what to do and buying a new power source in Brazil is really expensive.
Any help is appreciated!

I'm not sure that this is something you'd be able to fix on your own. Even if you could, its potentially a huge fire hazard. Since the 360 has officially been released in Brazil, you may be able to find a replacement a little cheaper.

Thanks for the response friedkarma.
Well the only place that I found the power unit was importing it from Paraguay, but it's really expensive, 280 Reais (about $140).
But I wouldn't fix it on my own, my dad knows some stuff about fixing, or I could bring it to a proffesional in that area, but the couple of stores that I went to and asked about it they just said that it's broken and that I should buy a new one.
Well I'm just asking if any of you guys know if it's possible to fix it cause I don't wanna spend $140.

Edit:

Well my 360 doesn't accept I checked the AC Adapter and it says:
Input AC 100-127V

If you know what you're doing, then it may be worth a shot. My completely uneducated opinion is that there must be a fuse or circuit breaker for instances like this, but I honestly don't know. If you have someone knowledgable that can save you the Reais, then its worth a try.

I wonder if you can find another 360 owner in your area and test your 360 using their power source? Somehow testing your 360 to see if it has also been broken by the power surge might save you some time, it may be that your whole system is fried in which case you get to brutally punch, kick, and slap the person that broke it. Let us know how it turns out for you

Well in Brazil most people are support Playstation, so I don't know have any friends who own a 360 here.
But If I buy it then I'm gonna have warranty.
Anyways tomorrow my dad's gonna try to fix the power supply, if he is unable to fix it then I'll unfortunetly pick up a new one on Friday.

I'll report back to how my situation ended up ok guys.
Thanks for all the help everyone!
And this is what I'm gonna do to my cousin:

What Shane was saying is that the 360 itself wouldn't have been damaged. With the right AC adapter, the 360 can run off 220.

Are you sure abut that? What do you mean right AC Adapter? I'm 100% sure that my power supply only accepts 110V.
