I'm pretty sure it's just overheating. Move your 360 to place that's more open.

4 red lights means somethings not plugged in right. 3 red lights mean death

Reseat all your 360 cables... especially the A/V cables.

Im new at this, so bare with me i just need to know what 2 red lights is because i just got a used nba 2k6 at eb games n i put in my 360 n it works find till i play a match once someone gets the ball when we jump for it, the 360 turns off n 2 red light show. i know it cant be over heated because i put it on table whare nothing is around it

ya im sure it means something is not plugged in. maby u should buy another set of cords. maby it will help. never know. its worth a try.

I'd call M$ Support and ask about the 2 red lights. like everyone's been saying

4 Red lights means cables aren't seated correctly or are on the wrong setting
3 Red lights means hardware error (it crapped out on ya)

no red or green lights and a frozen screen during initial load also means it's crapped out.

Im new to this also.. Ok i dont get any red lights.. but when i play NBA Live06 the game freezes.. No lights though... and than i can play my amped 3 all day long.. what should i do?

I would guess that your NBA disc is damaged.

Microsoft claims that 2 red lights on the ring of light means your console is overheating. Perhaps it's also an indicator that the 360 fans aren't functioning properly. I'd call Microsoft to be sure...

Mine froze for the first time with the 3 red blinking light when i was playing Call of Duty online. It did it a few times, then it stoped and i played for about an hour and a half with no problems. I really think its about to die. Is there anyway to fix it? What microsofts number? Do you lose all your game data and achievments if you send it in? I need help!

I got the 3 rings, so I unplugged the hardrive and all the cables and then plugged them back in and I havent had a problem with it since then.

Gortcho - if u send it in, you'll loose your progress because they'll send a new HDD ... u could try to keep your original HDD and then just use that when they send your replacement unit.

Microsoft's number is 1-800-4myxbox. Mine died a few weeks ago, 3 red blinking lights, and i sent it back in. Well i got a new one back on thurs. plugged it in again and BAM! the 3 red lights are back. So i called microsoft back and they told me to check my power supply. They now think the problem is my power supply. The big box on the power cable has a light on it that should be green when a game is playing. My light turns green for a few seconds and then turns yellow again. They claim this light should be green even if your xbox malfunctions and you get the red lights. They are sending me a new power supply hopefully this fixes the problem. When i sent my xbox in i got to keep my HD so i didnt lose any of my progress.
