Posts: 1,729    |  Yah halo 3 will be a good title for awhile, but.....There is still titles to come this year and next like, Rock Band, GTA IV, Mass Effect, etc.....they will give halo 3 a run for the money, but IMO i think halo 3 will still be on top for awhile

Posts: 828  | I will be as honest and open here, but again, I stress this is my opinion and I am not trying to change anyone elses, therefore my comments are my own. Nice disclaimer hey!  Gears of War Halo 3 COD4 Bioshock These are all shooters, agreed. I played Halo 3 Beta, liked it heaps. I played COD4 Beta, liked it even more so than Halo 3. I played Bio Shock, like the game, but not more than Halo 3/COD 4. All are different games, Modern Warfare Shooter, vs, Futuristic Shooter, vs, Bioshock which is kindof like a adventure shooter etc. But after playing all of these shooters, what do I still play the most online, its Gears of War. I knew Gears of War (online) had changed my perceptions of gaming when I was playing COD4 and I was shot and I was on the ground with my pistol and I was calling out to fellow players, revive me! revive me! Later, when in a area, and having a melee battle with another player, I was pushing B trying to use my chainsaw, but alas no chainsaw! The third thing that made me realise Gears was the best game, was again, trying to lock myself against a wall or crouch under cover as you do in gears and blind fire at the opposition. Its these 3 things that I have now grown accustomed too and enjoy in my shooters. Yes I am sure others have varying elements of the above,but gears just put it together so well for online play. Finally, its the 1 game that after playing other titles, I always kick back for a few grudge matches online on a regular basis, and its the 1 game that has had the largest amount of play time that all my other games put together. Now thats saying something, as to it being my most loved and played Game for 2007. 2006 although I owned Gears in November, the prize went to COD2 in 2006. I just thought I'd share that. Boost |

Posts: 28  | I agree Boost, I tried playing other shooters after playing GOW and trying to push A to go into cover and roll around and stuff. I've played GOW, will probably get halo 3 eventually in my life time, though with all the hype, not for a long time (GOW is still $55 used on gamestops website.) I probably won't ever buy COD4 so, 1. GOW (as it's the only one I've played) 2. Halo 3. COD |

Posts: 828 | For me its like Gears set the Bar for FPS's for me. I had tried other shooters, even Halo 1 & 2, but never found them to be brilliant. I have big expectations for Halo 3 though. I really enjoyed COD2, and maybe thats cause it was the PC version on console, but that game really rocked. When Gears came out, they said it would be like the game that will change the way you play shooters, the cover system, the chainsaw, are two sets of words that really define that game. People use to say, oh pity its only 8 players, to be honest, I prefer 8 players. COD4 has been like 12 or so players, and at times it just feels too hectic. I cant even stop, camp, and use my sniper without 5 people runing into me. Thats the only downfall of that game. More players should equal bigger map, each player should be allocated a square area ratio. Ie assuming gridlock is like 1000m2, each player is allocated space wise 125m2 (square meters). If I wanted 12 players, I'd have to make gridlock bigger at say 1500m2. So if you get my point, when you have a small online map in COD4 like the warehose one, 12 players running around in that makes for a busy busy map. I also wish they didn't have camera views on your killer because you kill someone, then they look for you and kill you. At least if you find a nice hiding spot, you can hold it for as long as it takes for others to find you. So thats another wish for COD4, get rid of respawn camera. I love GOW, I am sorry, its just great. Boost |

Posts: 220  | Halo 3 will end up like Halo 2. It will come out, it will be overglorified, people will play it and it will eventually collect dust when something better comes out. it's all a vicious cycle.
