Coming next Friday (odd not on a wed) for the states.
Dev posted of the official board that a demo will be real soon on live.
Hopefully it might be here by the end of the week.
Rebuilt stages, increase in textures and backgrounds, smooth 60fps, more rider animations, SIM SLIDER back in the game, slipstreaming back in, 2 re-done on board views, with working gauges and greater wind and rider tuck effect too. Enhanced bike physics, complete with tire wobble at high speeds, 6 wet stages this year, and real time telemetry.
From reading the dev diaries, sounds like they really have been listening to the fans and working on fixing all the little issues from last year. |

Posts: 3,238 | The last Moto GP was horrible, so I'm not looking forward to the next in the series. I'll wait a while before I give this one a go.

I really enjoy 06. Still play it quite a bit. Yeah, it's got slight framerate issues, but I think it's a great racer.
I think this one will be much much better. They took their time with it. Last year's was kind of a bare bones port of 3. |

Posts: 3,238 | Sorry, but I didn't like it at all. Mostly for the 'barebones', and 'little issues' comments you've already made. Its a matter of taste, but I don't see me playing the new one for many moons.

Posts: 689 | Yeah, I loved 06' for sure and rocked that game for a long time. Honestly though, it has so much competition that I might skip it this year. I cant believe im saying that but with nascar, madden, tiger and all the fun action games on the horizon I just wont have the money for it. I might just have to break 06 back out for a while though just to make it through.

Thoughts?
Mine-
Great demo. Really upped the graphics, gameplay control seems different, seems like they were going with mimicing realism. Watch enough races and you notice the little stuff right away, like in real life, the front tire lifts if you really punch it, the bike really wobbles coming out of corners too fast.
On board view is amazing. Working gauges, see throught he windshield better, more wobble of the fairings, See your viewpoint tuck down when you do, etc.
And man, did they make the track come alive. People everywhere, you can hear airhorns, the announcer on the overhead speaker by the bandstand, a helicopter filming the race. Very cool. Huge jump in textures of the sand and tarmac too. Tripled the rider animations for cornering too. Looks exactly how it should.
Sim slider is back. I'm also trying it with manual gears. Didn't last year, couldn't see the gauges or redline. It's a lot of buttons to deal with though. Tucking while turning alters your line more noticably than last year.
It really feels like a different game. Replays look great. TV view/angle, amazing. Like watching it on tv (not just a clever name indeed, eh?). And the extreme track looks incredible. Beautiful sky/clouds. Great lighting effects.
Can't fricking wait.
On board view, no HUD, no Map, No arrows, 100% sim on slider, manual gears = good times. |

Posts: 2,537 | its a bit more arcadey, but i actually found it a little more enjoyable as i dont know enough about bike racing to know when to hit which brake and do what, so it was easier to pick up and play. |

Posts: 2,812 | Just bought it. At first the framerate was skipping when in training mode. When I went to race it picked up pretty well.
Also, if you think it's too arcadey, you can make it 100% sim in settings. It goes from 0-Arcade to 100-Full on SIM.
The tracks are pretty good. I like Le Mans a lot because it's raining and all.
Still, the gameplay of '06 I may like a little more. Nonetheless it's a good game. |
