Xbox 360 too damn expensive

With all the required gadgets and add-ons, microsoft is pissing me off to the point that I'm willing to sell my xbox 360. I bought the $300 core system thinking I could get by with memory sticks but I was dead wrong. Those little bastards would hold maybe 4 or 5 games if that. Then Walmart decided that it would not accept my system back so I ended up having to buy a $99 hard drive. I thought my wallet was stretched enough but microsoft thought otherwise. I ended up having to shell out another $99 bucks for a wifi adapter, then another 8 bucks a month for xbox live (arguably worth it). Slap on another 40 bucks for a controller since old xbox controllers don't work with it, add one cooling fan (approximately $50) and you have a whopping $650 investment that originally started at $300. And to add to that, game prices are ridiculous at $60. Xbox 360 is cheaper my ass. I just wish I had done a little research before I bought this system. Thankfully though I have done extensive research on the ds lite and I plan on buying one (No necessary add on bull**** and cheaper games).

Well, if I'm correct. You shouldn't have bought everything there over a short period of time (i'm assuming). Besides, you don't need a wifi adapter unless your xbox and your router are far apart. Second, you dont need a fan, I'm prefectly fine without one, and who the hell ripped you off for a fan costing $50? And anyway, the game deals are a good price, ds can kiss the fattest part of my a$$. See, we always need more contributers to the xbox community.

Oh, and congratualations, you just one captain obvious of the day.

boo ****ing hoo, $60 for a game? $99 for a HDD $300 for the console? and you're actually complaining?? try paying almost $100 per game, $150 for the hard drive and $420 for the core console, because thats what i had to pay, i'm so sick of americans complaining about the reasonable prices they have to pay while i have to pay extortionate prices for less content

Why did you feel it necessary to buy everything at once? I bought a core at launch because all the Premiums were sold out. I bought the HDD a month later and a few paychecks after that some controllers and a couple games. BTW, Live is roughly $4.15 a month, not $8. At the very least you were given OPTIONS and provided an opportunity to make a educated choice on what you would like to purchase for your 360. Conversely, the PS3 is all or nothing.

you dont have to have wi-fi. Mine is wired the old fashioned way. go have fun with your DS lite. We will enjoy what is the best of the "next gen" gaming

HAHAHA First off, you're a moron for going with the Core. Plain and simple. Also, I just love how this dude was expecting to use the old xbox controllers on the 360. Come on man.

But seriously cry me a river! like others have stated, why did you feel the need to purchase everything at once? And why are you surprised about the 60 dollar price tag on games? And that is not an Xbox 360 issue, PS3 games cost the same too.

lastly, I love how your comparing pricing from a ****ing handheld (DS Lite) to a next-gen console. seriously dude change your tampon

I agree with alex , here in the UK we get totally screwed over on the price of games , consoles and extras !!

The average price for a game on Uk release is £49.99 which is the equivelent of $100 us dollars
Its totally FUBAR

You're missing two key things here; your taxes figure into the price, while ours are added on after the fact ($60 + local sales taxes = total game cost). Also, the dollar has devalued significantly since the launch of the 360. When the 360 launched one GBP bought you $1.72. Now it will buy you over $2.

ummm....did I say it was anyone's fault? I'm saying you have to compare apples to apples, and include currency fluxuations in your calculations. A game in London may equate to USD100 today, but it was much less two months ago, and could be much more two months in the future. Putting the facts out there is hardly blaming someone. The way Orbital stated it, it sounds like US gamers pay 60% of what UK gamers pay. That's simply not accurate.
