Good question and true! But the damn paperweight works and hasn't failed me technically. I play Ninja Gaiden and Motorstorm every now and then when there is nothing else to do. The blu-ray player is also a nice feature as well, which is one of the reasons I bought it for.

At first, I wasn't bitching about the price but because of the lack of games, constant delays, and not living up to the hype made me think otherwise. Plus I wasn't too happy about the price drop as I purchased the PS3 a month before.

Honestly, I didn't expect the PS3 to be this bad because of Playstation's past track record. I had both the PSOne and 2 and was very happy with them. So based on my positive experience, I just naturally assumed the PS3 would do well and that the games would shortly follow after its release. I didn't expect it to be this long but lesson learned. Next time around I'll wait and do more research.

Yep agreed, now you know how I felt as the owner of a NES and Super NES. Nintendo was king of the world for games, then BOOM, the N64 comes out with 1 good game, Mario 64, and that was it!

I still stuck with them though despite hanging about for a gamecube which did even poorer than the N64 did.

Oh well, such are the lessons in life we must learn.

Don't forget about Bond 64!!! That was the greatest shooter of its time. Even though N64 didn't have that many great titles, they had a couple of key games that sparked my interest. Mario 64, Bond, Mario Kart, Killer Instinct, Wave Race, and Pilot Wings were some of the games I liked. But Bond 64 was the App killer in my opinion. Speaking of Mario, did you get all 120 or 124 stars? lol.

I made more use of my N64 than PS3. And plus, N64 wasn't $600 bucks either so the hit wasn't that bad and it lasted 5 years. I sold my N64 when my PSOne broke however so I stopped keeping up with the game releases during the 1998-2001 period.

Never had a game cube but at least you can still play game cube games on the Wii if you decide to get one. I respect Nintendo for keeping their console prices low over the years.

I actually agree, N64 had some good titles, but in comparason to the plethora of titles coming for PS1, it was a avalanche compared to a snowball for game releases. The PS1 got soooo much, and I guess, I used the quality over quantity arguement which is still true today in my opinion.

The gamecube was good actually, I thought it had great games even Smash Brothers (was on N64 too) is currently one of their most pumped up sequels for the Wii. I also loved Resident Evil Remakes on Gamecube and RE4 was the Game of the year and won E3 back a few years ago. So the GC was a great console. But again, the PS2 was selling games leaps and bounds over hte PS2.

I got a Wii at launch but then sold it some months ago due to (you guessed it) a lack of games.

Yup, PSOne was the ****! I love RPG games and it had all the greatest titles. Xenogears, Final Fantasy VII/VIII/IX, Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve, Star Ocean....man....the list goes on and on!

If Sony had a lineup like that today it would be over.

The N64 had some good games (Turok, WCW/WWf games, Bond, some of the RARE games were good).
The Gamecube sucked (RE4 and that was about it).

The empty box Microsoft sent you had your information printed on the return label. Plus it has your serial number that is registered in your name.
