Other than a subscription, that's all you need.

Edit: You don't necessarily need a router, but if you want your computer and 360 to be connected to the internet always, without having to switch cables around constantly, you will need one.

And you dont need a subscription either.

All 360's have Silver access, and when you set it up, choose silver and you'll be given 1 months Gold Access Free as well, more than enough time to try it out and decided if you want to invest money for a membership. Beleive me, you will.

You need broadband Internet which will run you up mabye $40 a month.
Luckily My External modem has 3 ports which are 1 phone, 1 USB, 1 Ethernet. So my PC gets the USB, and my 360 gets the Ethernet port. Some People use the Ethernet for their PC so they need a router which is is basically a unit that looks like an external modem. It will have an Ethernet cable that goes into your modem's Ethernet port and then you just plug Your PC and 360 into the Ports on the router.

if buying a router make sure it is one specifically mentioned ont he microsoft site as being compatable. @ weeks ago i help a friend of mine set up his 360 on live and his router freaked out and went into some kind of lockdown mode like someone had tried to hack it. He called support for the modem and they told him how to reset it and how to do something called port-forwarding but it's just not running in a compatable way with his 360 so he's going to have to invoke the extra warranty he bought and take it back to the store then upgrade to one thats compatable.

Just be aware of what you need before you buy so that it's hassle free, for the most part the process of going Live is simple but if you're not sure what to do it can seem ominous.
