Posts: 22 | I had some kind of Atari with about a million games that my dad stole from his school (he was a teacher not a student). There was an old 'Thundercats' game which is probably my first gaming memory, though a lot of my friends had NES and C64 systems that I played on when I went round theirs.
The first console I owned was a megadrive. |

That was a great game, especially given SMurfs was a hit on TV too!

my first game i can only remember that the controller was some keyboard thing with a joystick attached, it was in black and white or what looked like yellow and white and the game was based on the movie short circuit.
completely **** game it was. then after that my dads mate gave me a mega drive and literally a huge box full of games. was chuffed. thats when it all started. i've never not had a games console since.

Posts: 2,676 | i would have to say it was good ole pong. my uncle had the pong console. in all of its 2 bit glory! white rectangles on a black backdrop knocking a square back and forth. yes!
follow that sweet dream up with an atari 2600 and intellivision, and it is like a NES compared to a 360. |

Nice! | Yeah dude, that controller was certainly wierd when you compared it to other controllers at the time such as the Atari 2600 controller which was a stick and a button, much more effective than a telephone controller with buttons! And what was with that big round circle (directional pad)?
I certainly dont miss the controller thats for sure.

Sega CD lol. I had Kriss Kross and Marky Mark's Make my video. Those games were horrible! I also had Double Switch, Sewer Shark, and Sonic CD. A lot of the games were cheesy but I actually liked my Sega CD.
And oh god, remember Joe Montana football? and the theme song? LOL. Those were the days.... | |

Posts: 34 | The moment i fell in love with the video games kind of feels like a distant memory.
but i can recall getting an nes. I remember sucking to high heaven at mario and hating it.
i remember feeling bored with tetris, and lost in zelda.
The one game that stuck! that made me feel like this was something i was going to love, was RBI baseball.
granted im not even a huge baseball fan but i just freaken loved playing that game.
its an odd first game but at my age everything else felt repetitive and dumb.
but rbi baseball had a great element of un-predictable competition/outcomes and a small learning curve.
The days of Halo partys creating addictively fun yet bitter rivalries among friends reminded me of the days of RBI baseball tournaments.
same goes with mario tennis and mario kart for 64 |

Posts: 5,094 | I was always a NES guy and have played games since I was just a young lad but it was Goldeneye that really got me into gaming. The entire 4 player versus was just unheard of for a console at that time. Then Perfect Dark was released and I was a happy man. So many games over so many years I have forgotten many although Halo CE LAN parties is what put me over the edge from a casual gamer to an avid player. |

Posts: 828 | On my Coleco Vision as stated Donkey Kong was great and when I was old enough to choose games, the NES version of Super Mario Bros sold me. I loved Mario 1, 2, and 3 and I really went pro gamer with the SNES and Super Mario World 4, Zelda ALTTP, and Secret of Mana! These games were tops, and propelled me into full gaming. Not to mention Street Figther, 2, CE, Hyper and Super all on SNES was a dream.
the rest is history.

Posts: 828 | oooh, and Speedball 2 last night from the Amiga days.
I must admit that game looks really good, for a Amiga game, now I remember why the Amiga was so popular.
