BioShock ships 1.5M, sequels being discussed - PC News at GameSpot

Interesting read if you loved Bioshock. Fingers crossed that this is the case, but a new Bioshock every 3 years???!! Thats just stupid...

It totally depends on what they do with it. I don't really want a real sequel - I want a prequel, where they put you in the shoes of a Rapture citizen just before the civil war between Fontaine and Ryan, and let you take sides.

I'm not sure where they'd go for a third title, but I've got faith in them after how great the first game was!

Who thought they wouldn't? I mean hello, yeah let's sale 1.5 million units then say "nah we made too much money let's make something else".

Exactly. Lets hope they make a good game and take their time, rather than botch a quick sequal to cash in quick.

But, it is good news. Lets hope Bio 2 has online as well, run around the complex shooting everyone would be cool.

It shouldn't take quite as long for a sequel since they have the engine and physics system already in place.

Yeah but I think, as Boost said, an Online MP will be added, which may take a very long time. Who cares how long it takes! I'm prepared to wait for any game as good as Bioshock!

Yes, they have the Unreal Engine but they still lack a plot, story line, and they will have to design completely new maps and add a co-op option (they ****ing better). The same can be said for Gears. They have the engine but a Gears 2 will not see the light of day until mid to late 08'.

I hope Gears has a longer Story. But to stay on topic, B2 will sell even more than the first one if they add Co-op and some Online play. But I imagine XBL will be kind of dull, you freeze a guy on sight and then just shoot him with a pistol.

I agree, even with Gears 2, the engine is there etc, but your still looking at 2+ years if we are lucky. Its been 1 year already and no Gears 2, so I think if any company wants to make a decent game, they'll take their time.

So hopefully 2k, realeses Bioshock 2 around August 2009.

GTA4

Unconfirmed but Expected:
Gears of War 2

Unconformed and a blind bloody hope!:
Bioshock 2

Lets add some games to this list and see what exactly is in 2008 for us to be excited about.

I ask this legitimately because E3 2007 was all about 2007, which was great, but bad because we dont know the lineup next year.

Bioshock has made mroe money in less than 2 months than some games make in an entire year, I would be shocked if they don't make sequels.

There are loads of awesome games being released in 08, not just GTA4. I hope the B2 comes in 09 or later, so that it is done properly, and not rushed.

I honestly think MS may have won this console war. Sony continues to dig themselves a deep grave with their pompous and arrogant attitude. It's pretty sad when a competing system who has had some serious criticisms and negative publicity over the RRoD kick the **** out of the PS3 by nearly 100,000 units. It always falls back on to the industry axiom. Games push units and right now MS and the 360 have the best available games on the market. That's just 100% truthiness regardless of how hard the Sony fanboys try to justify the PS3's horrid sales and lackluster games. To them I say face reality, it's much better over here anyways.

Dont forget though Malo, 360 has been out for ages! I think PS3 will have its shine in a few years.

But as you said, its alll about the games

(and the controller - i hate the ps3 controller, its too god damn small!!!)

Possibly Vernon but will it be too little too late? They've already alienated a large portion of their user base. A few years could be a year short of the end of this current console cycle.

Im no hardware whizz kid (calls for scott), but from what I hear the PS3 is capable of much more than the 360. If its true, then I think the PS3 will become more of a threat to 360 in a few years (as the games themselves should be more advanced - only capable on the PS3)

But saying that, it will probably be 2010/2012 before games become to powerful for the 360 to handle, and by then, there will hopefully be a new 'box under construction

Anyways.. what would you guys like in Bioshock 2...
