Default Sega Rally Demo

As i continue to be amazed at Dirt, I had a chance to play Sega's new racer, Sega Rally. It felt like a dreamcast game to me. There were some cool surroundings but it's arcade with vibrant colors all the way. I was amazed on the steering wheel stiffness the game offered as I havn't felt the wheel that stiff and steady before. The game has serious frame rate issues. Dirt still owns the Rallys on the 360.

I'm not impressed with the Sega Rally demo. Arcade racers are great sometimes, but this one doesn't fit the bill.

Hmmm I actually liked it. Took a few races though. I love the old Sega Rally. I use to spend bucket loads of money at the arcade on it. This one feels exactly the same but with deformable terrain. Graphics and framerate are solid.

The graphics looked fine, but every one of Sega's games has exactly the same look and feel. Everything is so arcady.

First impressions of the demo are not good for me. If you want a good arcade rally game I suggest sticking with DIRT for now.

Dirt may also go up in value cause Colin McRrae is now dead (died a few days back in a helicopter crash) so it may be the last game to bear his name.

I personally never liked Dirt as the controls and physics just felt so clunky.
Plus there was no online either, please, its a car game for god sake, no excuse to not make the other players, real players as opposed to Computer Controlled oponents.

Dirt and Forza are the same as Simulations go. I think Dirt races more realistically actually. Dirt is not an Arcade racer, at lease not on a simulator seat. It's the real deal. Sega Rally is arcade all the way. I played on the stick and it lost alot. I believe dirt is meant to be raced with the wheel.

I actually think Forza looks more like an arcade racer. It doesn't have the "real" look dirt displays. The colors are too vibrant.

LIES! No need to start the debate again though. I'm downloading Sega Rally atm to give it a go.

*sigh* don't start this argument again. You are the only person I've EVER (and I mean that literally) heard that has ever said DiRT was realistic. It is an arcade game, and having a racing seat doesn't make it any more realistic.

In overall terms, DiRT and Sega Rally 2 are just as arcade as each other.

Scotracer, you lost street credit when you thought Nascar 08 deserved anything but the trashcan. That game is the worst racing game of the year.

Forza looks like a Dreamcast game. The shadows are non existant to cartoon like. As the only person on this board who actually races dirt track, I give dirt the two thumbs up. Forza is good, but not better than Dirt. Like I said, the physics in Dirt are sick. The way the wheels hook the burms. The way the car moves and grips on different surfaces. The way the body rolls over in the corners. Perfect. The way the pull feels off the corner. If they get the minor frame rate issues fixed it will be the best racing game on any videogame council.

Sega Rally and Nascar deserve trash can awards. Dirt deserves the most underated game of the year award.

Wow. Sounds extremely biased and ignorant. How many other rally games have you played besides DIRT and Sega Rally? DIRT is **** physics. ARCADE. Just because the wheel jerks hard doesn't make it realistic.

Just wow! Scotracer's now a pimp for NASCAR 08? Nothing could be further from the truth. Check your facts!

For the record, I said that I enjoy NASCAR, but I pointed out numerous flaws. The only reason I would take it over Dirt was because you race other cars, instead of a clock, as I said in the site review. To me, that's racing. If I want to race a clock, I'll leave 20 minutes late for work.

Seriously, make sure you have your greenies straight, and their opinions, before you go saying something that 99% of the forum know is not true.

Edit: Thanks for the imagery though. I can see Scotracer with a Dale Earnhardt belt buckle holding up his kilt.

DiRT has been one of the most disappointing gameou think tghas of the year for me. I was a huge fan of the colin mcrae series and thankfully no one can really notice the small printed colin mcrae text on it. If i'm concerned the last colin mcrae was 2005. It is quite obvious that you have NEVER raced a REAL WRC CAR. And if you think that people are gonna change their opinions just because you keep blasting them on every thread. It's a gaming forum but some people here actually know something about REAL LIFE CAR PHYSICS. Scot for example is a automotive ENGINEER so sorry if i'm enclined to rely on his expertees over you non existing ones

Dirt is an arcade racer. End of. If you think its realistic then you have obviously never even driven a REAL car - let alone rally.

Dirt is more realistic than Forza. The wheel sucks with Forza. That's why no one uses the wheel with Forza.

If you're into cartoon ghost cars, Forza is for you.

BTW, I'll still go head to head against anyone one FORZA. Hit me up.

LMFAO. Now you're either just trying to piss me off or you're truly an idiot. I didn't know in real life you could take a gravel hairpin at 120 MPH? People do use the wheel with Forza lmfao. I do, and everyone I play online with does. Nice logic. I'll race you, haven't been on for awhile but no worries.
