PGR3 Confirmed as Launch Title

Bizzare Creations have confirmed that Project Gotham Racing 3 will be ready in time for the launch of the Xbox 360. This conflicts with reports that we have been getting lately, but in a recent PGR3 video from TGS, these rumours were confirmed as false.

Gamespot have posted a "video tour" of the game during which the Bizarre representative showing off the game specifically states that PGR3 is on track for the launch of the Xbox 360.

He goes on to say that the rumour stems from the recent Game Developers Conference in Germany, during which someone talking about PGR3 simply got mixed up - "simple as that".

I was never into racing games but I think I'll be getting this. My friend things PC games are the most graphical you can get. I can't wait to shove it in his face.

Have you got a link to counter this claim? Be handy as I realy do want PGR 3 on releise as I have no intrest in the EA racers.

pgr3 is obviously going to be a launch title as much promotion they have put in to it and from the looks of its completed or close to it. SO have no fear my 360ians lol youll be able to play the most spectacular racing game ever created ]

What he actually said was that they are on track for the launch window. This doesn't necessarily mean that it will be available Nov 22nd. Microsoft's launch window is any time between Nov 22nd and the end of December/beginning of January. That being said I really hope this is available Nov 22nd, would suck to get my console and then no games.

I don't think they really said one way or the other, but anymore fps doesn't matter like it did back on the N64

It kind of freaked me out when I heard the rumor about PGR3 not being ready for launch, but I feel better now.

If you want a PC with the same graphics you will have to spend a hell of a lot more than price of 360

In there one of the people asks " what about the frames? ", after which is answered " right now it's running at 60 frames a second " (something along those lines, but it sure is 60)

I'm surprised everyone is so excited.

Bizarre Creations have pretty much abandoned most of their fans. People played it as an alternative to Arcadey-style racing. It was more of a driving simulator as sorts.

Yet now Bizarre have completely scrapped everything that made PGR the franchise that it is. It's an arcade racing game and most of the cars are available from the beginning.

Now, i've no problem with this. But shouldn't this be a major problem to all those who dismissed Outrun 2 and Burnout 3 as "far too arcadey"? I distinctly remember at least ten people REFUSING to play Outrun as it was too "unrealistic". Yet they're all buying this? A tad hypocritical if you ask me.

Not been following the info on 3 I am only buying it as I like 2.

But if thats the case I will end up sticking with forza.

PGR 1 & 2 was never a simulation type game like Gran Turismo of Forza any way it always had a arcadie feel to it but if 3 is more like BO 3 and OR it will be traded in.

But for some reasion i do like Burnout Revenge even though I hated BO 3

Where do you get this from? I'm finished with you. I didn't join here to provoke you either

You're right. It was never a simulation game, but it had a strong simulation feel to it. The cars felt realistic (coming from a non-driver) and it wasn't too OTT. If you were to place say Burnout 3 or Forza alongside it, of course it wouldn't feel the same. That's the joy of racing games really. Few suffer from stolen formulas.

Opinions? I think you got the wrong end of the stick. I'm not the one who closed a thread because others disagreed with what I was saying. You're entitled to your opinion, just like everyone else here is. So please drop it. I grow tired of your accusations.

You're not the only one who doesn't like Outrun. Many, many don't because they deem it too "arcadey". I was just wondering why no one has picked up on PGR3 yet, since Bizarre have pretty much abandoned their loyal fans. If it isn't broken don't attempt to fix it.
