Default I just got screwed by XBOX live!

So I bought a prepaid 12+1 month card on ebay. Worked fine for about a month. I decided to extended it by putting in the free one month card that comes with the console. By doing that it canceled out my 13 month subscription. I called support and they have no record of my 13 month number on record! I deleted the email with the code on it so have no way of proving that I paid for the first card. What Bulls*it!

If you are making a new gamertag and Microsoft Live ID when setting up a 360 on Live they will automatically give you 1 month of Gold. The one thing i'm thinking to ask you is if you somehow made an entirely new Gamertag/account when you entered that 1 month code? Each Gamertag has it's own account info with xbox live tracking then how much access to gold membership you have credited as well was what content you have bought. As far as I know access to Live isn't tied to your specific COnsole but rather to the gamertag itself.

If you did make a new Tag/account you should still be able to recover the old one that you had before which would still have the remainder of your 13 months of gold access applied to it. Also if you somehow canceled your Account the remainder of the gold access you had would have been deleted.

Other than these few ideas I have noting else to suggest but to fall back upon telling you to make a special folder in your E-mail where you store any mail which could be important such as Receipts from online purchases or Order confirmations etc etc.

Email the seller, they might have a spare copy of the email in their sent folder.

Personally, I never delete email. I've got archives going back to 2000, with a few gaps from computer crashes. Maybe your seller saves everything too.

I checked the gametag thing. Just one. I talked to three different people and they have no record of anything. I dont think they understood what I was saying. Stupid outsourcing of jobs. I did email the seller so hopefully they do have a copy. Thanks

The free month that comes with the console is for new accounts only. I set that up, then entered my subscription code, giving me 14 months with no problems. I would think your attempt to enter the one month code would be invalidated when you tried to enter it. I'm not sure of the issue...something's missing here.

mabye the e-bay seller sold you a 1 month code at the price of a 13 month code? try to request an account history from Xbox live. If the account history says you were only on a 1 month memebrship until you added the 1 month card that came with the console then you can be pretty sure that you got ripped by the ebay seller slipping you a 1 month code instead of a 13 month.

I was thinking the same thing. We're not getting the full story here.

I can see that happening getting ripped off by e-bay. I personally would never buy anything of e-bay. I know a few people who had bad experiences on e-bay.

They are saying I had no account history until I put the 1 month subscription on there. I played online for about three and a half weeks with the 13 month card prior to that. I told them that I had last played madden on 9/07 against an online player. I pulled up my game history on xbox.com to prove it. They told me they couldn't pull up my game history on their system and said that I had no account history prior to that date. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're only out 30 bones. The greatest was the PS3 ebay sell. Dude shipped them 3 PS1's for nearly a grand (PS3). Oh the hilarity. As for the link, you never can be absolutely certain. I know many who have been screwed over while the seller's items looked 100% legit. The least MS should be able to do is verify the length of the subscription by the code. At least I would think so but you never know with Billy Gates and Co.

If he had just been sold a one month card, wouldn't the techies be able to find a record of that one month of service?

To me something doesnt sound right .. I mean someone would have a record of this activity . what email service do you have . some of them have a deleted items section. Honestly it sounds like user error to me .

i would just keep calling Support until they did something. If they would not do anything i would call them for a decent length of time each day until i had made them spend $50 on paying their customer support reps an hourly wage to tell me NO.

After reading all of this info what I am thinking is this:
You get a free month of live when sign on for the first time.
The ebay seller may have sold you a proper 12 month membership but it was used already by the seller. He could have sold you a dead card. Just a possibility.
