|  Helpful Discovery regarding the Checkpoint/Savepoint system!
I was playing through Crowsnest on legendary and made it to the point where the Jump pack brutes are on the landing pad. I was tossed off the side of the landing pad and ended up on a ledge halfway down the chasm with no way up then it hit me with a Checkpoint and I assumed I was screwed and would have to replay the level. Out of curiosity I decided to hold up on the left thumbstick to make myself repeatedly walk off the ledge and fall to my death so that I could see if my body fell differently each time (and it did) but more importantly After about 10 such deaths it automatically reverted me to the prior checkpoint (the checkpoint prior to my last checkpoint where I was stranded) So instead of replaying the whole level i just had to assault the landing pad again. I remember how annoying the savepoints in Halo1 were because they always seemed to activate when you were down to 3 bullets and no shields out in the open with 3 elites shooting you apparently bungies has installed a fix for those times when you are caught in an autosave where death is 100% assured. Thanks Bungie!!!!!!!! |
