Posts: 5,094 | Haze looked like a combination of numerous knock offs so I couldn't care less. I haven't been following it to much for the simple fact that to me, they are trying to develop a game which lacks any inkling of innovation. |

Well the 360 isn't getting Crysis either.... Me personally I was looking forward to it as well..... I don't want another Quake, Half-Life 2:Orange Box or Unreal Tournament III.... Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait for Dog Tag........ |

Dont remember saying it was, that was just my opinion on the game.
Fact is no next-gen console can handle crysis and a port would be laughable.

I never said you did.... I was refering to the fact that no one is losing sleep over losing Haze being exclusive.... but me........
I understand why Crysis isn't coming, but to lose Haze as well.... I, personally, was looking forward to playing them... Haze is the closest game to Crysis....... |

Fact is no next-gen console can handle crysis and a port would be laughable. | No more laughable than any other 360 title. It's all a matter of how much they want to make it happen and how much work they're willing to do. Crytek Confident it could port Crysis Quote: |

"We would just have to see how much of a sacrifice to the game we'd have to make. Or whether there would be a sacrifice at all, maybe we could find a way to make the game look exactly the same as it does on PC on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3."
| In industry-speak, "can't" just means "don't want to" or "is hard".

| | | Fortune a decent port of Crysis is frankly impossible, any member on this site who knows about pc/console hardware will tell you that.
I would like if my 360 was able to handle crysis, but it just can't. plain and simple.
Crysis requires a minimum of 1.5gb of RAM thats a MINIMUM your talking 800*600 res, low textures, no shadows and lots of aliaising.
Now pc's do have a OS to run aswell, but tbh not that major of a difference.
Now ill make it clear for you:
For crysis to run smooth and 'next-gen' it will need at least 2GB of ram , and a GPU with 512mb RAM.
The fact the 360 ONLY has 512mb OVERALL shared between the Console and the GPU is laughable for crysis to use. That link is BS fortune pipe dreams is all.

Posts: 176 | 1 gig minimum with XP. 1.5 with Vista--an os that has a pretty big footprint. Regardless, this is the stupidest reasoning I've ever heard. I never suggested that someone would take a PC DVD and shove it in the 360 and it would work. Comparing specs between PC and 360 versions would be completely meaningless.
Your arguments prove 1 thing: "Crysis 360 would look different from Crysis PC." Well Duh.
When they wrote it for the PC, they made use of the PC's generous overhead to avoid the time-consuming task of optimization. The code can be re-written, optimized for the 360, minus some of the eye candy that more powerful PCs can manage, and have at least the equivalent gfx of any game on the 360. If Crysis 360 would suck, it would only suck as much as any other 360 game out there.
That link quotes the lead artist of Crytek. If I had to take someone's word and expertise for what could be done (I don't), I'd take his over yours.

If you had of played the crysis beta you wouldnt be talking with such ignorance. Ive seen absoulte beasts of PCs struggle with it big time, and Crysis is heavily optimized by the way, or it will be for SP demo and full game.

Oh wait, I acknowledged that 5 posts ago. You're not actually disagreeing with me, because you haven't a clue what my argument is.

| | | So whats your arguement then popeye?
Of course the 360 COULD run a crysis PORT, but what type of port would it be, it couldnt be a 720p res unless there was no shadows, no physics, no shaders, no AA, no HDR or bloom effects, no high detail textures the list goes on.
Unless they built the crytek engine up from scratch for the 360, and in the process cut out everything THAT MAKES the crytek engine so impressive then yes we could have a crysis port.
Same way they could sell a piece of piss FPS they made 8 years ago and never realised on the Wii 2moro and decided to call it crysis.
jog on sunshine, you cleary have no idea what your talking about, damn console fanboys.
