can u supply pictures? i dont know exactly how you have everything set up, but if your just feeding off the main dsl\cable modem. the main cable (coming from said modem), would feed into the main router port, then you just plug in your pc and xbox cable into the other ports. this is from memory, im pretty sure that should work just fine.

Thats Correct.

The ethernet cable goes from your Modem to your Router. Their is usually only 1 ethernet port on your modem, so thats easy to isolate. On the back of your Router the first port (going from left to right) is usually the "In" port, so plug your cable here. The "out" ports are usually the next 4 ports and this is where you connect other devices like, laptops, PC and Xbox 360's.

Its pretty universal in terms of set up.

Hope this helps.

I don't have a router, I have a modem with 1 ethernet port, My 360 plugs into that port. EASY

Yes thats how I used to do it as well, until my wife screamed that hte internet was unusable! So I bought a router, now my mrs can use the PC, I can be online, and also wireless now too, no more annoying cables!
