need a little help

Hi new to this forum my sons xbox 360 keeps freezing up when gears of war are ready to play ,also it boots up fine no red rings of any sort ,i also clean the the disk and still does it sometimes and the screen just goes dark also ... any ideas ?? called xbox oh send it in will fix for 90$ It is about two years old so he plays this thing alot , so any help would be nice thanks ...

Is the 360 horizontal or vertical? Does the "Clean disk" error come up?

yes i have tried both ways of standing it up ,yes it does it with other games also so i think it could be a cd rom problem ,it is about a year and ten months old ....my son has been playing a lot online ,so we tried it off line and still will freeze up and sometimes it will have lines vertical also the screen will just go dark too,thanks for your help

Hmm,
You said MS will charge, that means its its obviously outside the 1 year warranty and MS wont fix unless its red rings of death.

My tip, leave this Xbox 360 on continuosly for a week, make it hot and block the ventalation holes (just put a book up against the back of it).

You'll fry that sucker in no time and then send it back for Red Rings and bobs' your uncle.

most likely a faulty disc but if your sending it in to get repaired, then hey who cares right....except the fact they sucker you ninety dollars

He said its happening on other games as well, so no point swapping out a disc.
