COD4 or HALO 3? Which do you prefer?

having just played a few hours of sp and mp i would have to say that COD4 is a much better game. The combat is more intense and the story is a hell of a lot better than halo. The graphics are much better than halo and different types of levels you can play are very well done (sniper level, the helicopter level, etc..) Great game that everyone should get. The mp is also very well done and i will continue to enjoy this much longer than i played Halo 3 mp.

I guess it depends if you want a somewhat realistic experience or more arcade/fantasy.

Personally, I enjoyed the S/P in Halo but for me the multi-player just doesn't do it. Too many people jumping 20ft. in the air around in circles shooting and annoying kids screaming in the mics.

COD4 multi is running even better than the beta, and the different game types are pretty nice. Realistic physics and weapons (and a better selection of them) put it on top for me. The rank system is awesome and gives some replay value.

COD4 and Orange Box should have come with Halo3 dust covers as promotional items.

beta was crap full game kicks ass. if you are into sp only rent it only took me 5 hours to beat.

if I'm playing games that you don't like then I know that I'm playing the right games.

Decisions..Decisions.. My plan was/is to buy Halo 3 when I buy my Xbox 360, but now after reading all these reviews about COD4 I'm torn. Since I'm new to Xbox and won't be playing online for at least 2 weeks from the day I get my Xbox, should I choose Halo 3 or COD 4 as my first game? I was thinking more Halo 3 since I've been hearing how short the single player campaign is in COD4. What do you guys think should be my first game purchase for the new system, keeping in mind that I won't have multiplayer for a while?

Flip a coin. 2 weeks isn't that long to wait. You can probably save $5 with a used copy of Halo 3, but it comes down to the game you think you'll get the most mileage from.

i love tem both and plan on playing them a hell of alot. i dont see any shooters topping cod4 mp in awhile. i played about 2 hrs of cod4 mp today and figured id take a break by playing halo 3 and was back to cod4 after 1 match.

halo 3 was an okay game, but the multiplayer wasn't worh it. Forge, Split-Screen, Local Matches, Campaign and Campaign co-op was totally worth it.

Alllot of game reviewers are quite skeptical about assasins creed cause they've been continually shown the same bit of hte same level over and over again. People get worried cause they may have polished that part of the game very well, but the rest of the game could be unpolished, shallow or poor in comparason.

I was excited about it, but hardly much has been heard or seen on this title. This is definately one I want to see how it scores before I purchase.

It's entirely up to you but Halo3 is a great shooter with a single player campaign that lasts around 10 hours. COD4 single player campaign is only around 5 hours.

Played COD4 for 5 hours already. It's a brilliantly designed game. I love working towards the challenges (and thanks to them I'm now level 24 after one day).

Is it better than Halo 3? Well, I've always been a COD fan -- almost as long as I've been a Halo fan but I would give the nod to Halo 3.
