Talking Orange box

If you've never played portal, you probably won't understand or think this funny.

Valve did a great job on Orange Box. I also found out that the Portal storyline connects to the events of Half Life. In EP3 you might be able to use the handheld Portal device with Gordon Freeman.

I finished Orange box (didn't play TF2) and was totally unimpressed with the entire Half-Life/Portal experience. Driving controls were total crap, graphics were so-so even for a 2004 shooter (Doom 3 looked far better) and the gravity gun is the lamest weapon in a game since the jellybeans in "A Boy & his Blob".

I would have stopped playing but I kept hoping it would get better. If you liked it that's fine but that was the most boring FPS I've ever played.

Portal is easily one of the most inovative games to come out in ages. I like many people can't wait to get some DLC for this if Valve will bless us with such offereing. For anyone that did't care for this game I also could see some shortcoming in this game, but they were minor at worst, and looking at games in this genre there's been few that match this games level brilliance. I did hate any of the driving segments, but seeing that it's only a small piece of this game it didn't hinder the game at all.
To Hollywood21639 I'd say that if this wasn't your game then I'm betting you're a run n gunner on halo3 and COD4? I'm not saying that's bad, but just the overall grouping of those few people who have played the orange box and didn't like it. If it was boring it means it was too slow for you. I'm betting you either haven't played Mass Effect or if you did it also bored you. To each their own, but I'm still amazed to hear that anyone who gave it the time didn't like Portal.

Portal was great, I almost wrecked myself playing it.

I own Mass Effect and really am enjoying it. I do prefer a more action based FPS but HL2 is too slow paced and boring. The entire game is made up of lame physics puzzles and game that constantly respawns enemies in this generation of games is pathetic.

The physics puzzles are the best part IMO. Out of curiosity, did you play EP1&2, or just HL2?

I played HL2, EP1, EP2, and Portal. I did find EP1 the most enjoyable since it was more action based and less of the "oh wow look at our awesome Havok physics engine" moments.

Since I joined Gamefly I try to plow through the games to get new ones. Orange Box did take a while to get through (20+ hours).
