Speaking of the "war".... I was pissed about not being able to realistically use my HD-DVD Dongle anymore.... but am one of the lucky few that has both an XBOX360 and a PS3.

I can enjoy the Blu-Ray and thats cool... PLUS as far as DD is concerned PS3 does AWESOMELY with Divx and I can convert any movie I "own" to divx and stream it... I can do that with my 360 too... just not as well or with divx. Plus I love the fact that my PS3 dhas 50gigs of info for me to work with as far as games go.... so in the near future it will be my benefit..

for right now though... i can handle the DVD games on my 360 when I'm bored.

future what are you talking about ? 360 was the first to make divx playback available and i find it much better than the ps3. My buddy has one and we spent a good part of yesterday setting it up (was a pain in the butt, not as straight forward as the 360) and even when we did the ps3 threw up countless errors on different files.

The 360 has played everything i have thrown at it flawlessly.

To be honest I find the streaming better on the PS3 too. But the main reason I use it for streaming and DVDs is because its far quieter than the 360.

Future you are trying to stir the **** up a bit tho arent you?

maybe its just my buddies setup then but it was a pain to set up and when it was only half his movies worked (granted he prob has a bunch of dodgy downloads but still), thats why i found my setup with streaming on the 360 so much better.

Also as far as noise goes my 1 year old 360 only makes noise when the dvd drive is spinning otherwise it is pretty much silent. So when streaming from my computer with no activity on the dvd drive it is nice n quiet.

Yeah Nufan, I totally blanked on that! After doing some research it also seems that both of the systems do well with divx and the 360 has been doing it longer too. I guess I should clarify that i like the amount of space on my PS3 steers me in that direction. I never bought the 120gig HDD for my xbox due to its outlandish price. I've never had a divx error on either system. I generally download the majority of my divx files through the webbrowser on the ps3.. don't know if that makes a difference..

ALSO! it seems that both systems require certain types of divx formats... that might be the errors that are popping up on your system man.
