Does anyone kown if the three year warranty is from the time of purchase or the date of when the 360 was made on the back of the console?

i agree it must be time of purchase, just wondering how they know when the 360 was purchased though ? Obviously all 360s are still under the 3 yr warranty for rrod, but once this is past how will they verify the purchase date? Will a receipt be mandatory ?

Probably. You can always register your console.

It is definatly the purchase date, but you also need proof of that purchase. Otherwise it will default back to the manufactured date.
