i used iron lungs for a little while when i got it, but it didn't seem to make a lot of difference, id rather use deep impact instead

Yep, I use it on my Sniper class. It is one of the most useful perks I have (you can pretty much guarantee yourself headshots).

probably should use it then...i'll never get my challenges met with that sniper rifle since i can't take dudes down in 1 hit. usually hit them, then they run off. gotta get that head shot.

Using Stopping Power, any shot on the Body/Head should kill in a single shot

I play almost exclusively on Hardcore Deathmatch or Hardcore Search & Destroy. In hardcore any Direct hit from a sniper is a kill shot, the only exception is if the bullet penetrates through an object and loses damage. Give hardcore a try it;s very addictive.... so much that when you play it alot you won't be able to go back to regular where it takes half a clip to get a kill rather than the 2 bullets it takes in hardcore.

Deep Impact, stopping power, and claymores or bandolier are the best sniping perks

Deep impact? Deep impact has no effect on damage unless your shooting through an object. No intelligent sniper will go for a shot through an object. Not to mention deep impact has no use whatsoever for the Barrett seeing as how it already has maximum bullet penetration.

Yeah, Hardcore is fun. I play it a lot. I wish you could play all of the game modes with the Hardcore setting though.

The perk should more rightly be named "Deeper Impact"
All bullets have some measure of object penetration, different object will reduce bullet damage by different amounts. All that "Deep Impact" does is allow your bullets to pass through thicker objects and retain more of their damage dealing capacity on thinner objects. Deep Impact works well on Light Machine Guns where spraying an entrenched enemy is very common.
