Default Euro Xbox 360 Price Cut

Looks like tomorrow (3/10) EU gamers could possibly see a price cut for the 360. According to Engadget, Microsoft will cut 50 to 80 Euros off the 360 Pro and Arcade consoles.

Check it out:
Euro Xbox 360 price cuts landing Monday says paper - Engadget

Hopefully a price cut will follow in the US as well.

Just looked on amazon.co.uk and the price of a premium 360 is now £189.99 and the elite is £249.99 so it isn't a big price drop but it could tempt some.

Well the Premium was £250 before the price drop so I'd say a £60 reduction is a lot. The console is now £100 less than a PS3 (by RRP)...let's see how Sony counteracts that.

Fair enough, i wasn't actually going by RRP's i was reckoning with amazons normal discounts. Thinking about it though 60 notes could get you a couple of games.

I presume this is to counter the high sell rates of PS3 and lacklustre sails of 360 since crimbo in Europe.

From what I hear SCEE is doing well so This is a smart move on MS's part. If someone wanted a next gen console and cant afford a 360 now, they should get a job or realise games are not important to them because they need food on the table first.

Well in Europe as far as I know it is VAT included, in the states the after sales tax is yet to be added, that and the larger salary's in the EU and dearer cost of living on the whole would mean your all wrong.

Its the price it needs to be.

It varies by state. Some have sales taxes, some don't.

yeah this just brings them closer in line with north american prices. Canada had a similar drop a month or so ago to bring them in line with the states.

feel free to ignore shane's standard dribble

He acutally made a good point this time that our tax is figured after the fact, rather than built into the price like in Ireland and the UK. My county charges a confiscatory 7.75%, which is why I drove 2 counties south to buy my TV.
