Looks like they kept the res 4 third person perspective with the guy off to the left. that was hard for me to deal with cause i kept trying to center the guy in the screen so i couldn't hit anything.

looks really good, though. i mean graphic wise with the shading and the animation. i might rent, but this isn't my type of game.

still looks racist too.

Looks interesting, but WTH is that coming outta the zombies mouths? I haven't played any of the RE games, so I don't know if this is something new or carried over from the other games.

I was wondering the same. It hasn't been in any of the other games though. Not sure if it is something coming out of their mouths or their mouths splitting open. Looks like a mixture of the two. At about 50 seconds if you pause it clearly looks like the mouth is splitting open but elsewhere it clearly looks like something is coming out. It reminds me of the reapers from Blade 2 though.

yeah a couple shots it looked like their mouths split, like you said. there was one shot that showed it pretty clearly, which is probably the one you said there. But a lot of other shots, it definitely looks like something is coming out with claws and stuff on it...reminded me of some of the bugs in the new king kong when they fell down the valley thing.

In all of the older games it was a virus, in resident evil 4 they introduced a parasite called "Las Plagas". This could be a hybrid of the two, or something entirely new.

In RE4 it used to come out of their heads (ie if you shot off their head you would then see these tentacles flying everywhere trying to get you).

Out of the mouth is just a different oriface.

PS This game looks excellent. Its the 2nd most game I am excited for after GOW2.

Not this year slick, its a 2009 release now, so this years GOTY goes to GOW2, and next year, RE5.

Just stumbled across this article. Very interesting if this is true. The thought of playing through the story with a buddy sounds great. I remember playing Resident Evil Zero and wishing a buddy could join. An NPC ally tagging along through single player could take away from the RE experience though. Also, its nice to see that mercenaries mode will be returning. Wonder why they took the preview down...

Edit: just saw 7th had previously posted this in another thread (only 33 views) but still think its worth mentioning in here for anyone who hadn't seen.

i liked GOW, but i'm not anticipating its sequel as much as this one. 4 was awesome. and this looks like it takes it to a whole new level. i'm just not seeing as much improvement in the GOW series as i am with this one.

I refuse to give into the hype of this game and buy it without playing a demo or renting it first, like i did with GTA4. Looks good, but didn't like RE4, so i will be wary of this game. but it is still a year off, so i have plenty of time to stonewall myself!
