Default Rate the graphics

In your opinion are the graphics:
a)25% better
b)50% better
c)100% better

I am hoping the graphics for the launch games is just the begining, although very impressive I have to believe that every wave of games will be better graphically than the previous.I have very high expectations for the 360, so I am willing to wait for ''HOLLYWOOD STYLE"graphics as they advertise as long as each release is graphically better than the release before.
peace, (is it 4:20 yet)

yep you got it right my friend. With each installement of games coming out they'll look that much better. To me the launch games look great but you can tell they are launch games. Developers dont always have the time they need or just the time to give it that extra "umph" if you will. As if they had the time they could add even more details/textures just all types of things to enhance the graphics even more. Which I'm hoping will be what we see in games coming out in late 06 (or even surprise games like Gears of War which seem to be jumping ahead early) but I believe that all games can easily look as good as GOW and even way better than that, it'll just take time and our part patience to wait for those games to hit the shelves. Next holiday season I imagine will be REALLY good with all kinds of games hopefully coming out some of which we probably dont even know about and we'll first see say around E3 next year

so with launch titles in mind I'd say most average at most 25% better graphics as some of them like say Need for Speed Most Wanted are just prettier versions of the other (much prettier indeed!) however it ranges from25%-50% as some games look that much better. Again Gears of War easily being 50% better and some other games like PGR3 and Ghost Recond falling around that mark. Its hard to totally say for sure as we haven't seen what the best the system can do looks like so ya know

By the 2nd year this machine will have 100% "better" grahpics. However, as for right now, it's sitting at about 25-50 (like Cybergig1 said. Now, graphics arn't just about how cool the main character looks, it's about how everything comes together. Backgrounds are in for a huge inporvement this generation, along with framerates and sound quility.

Though, graphics don't matter. It's really about the experience, and this should be about the same. Right away, there is nothing "new" displayed for this system. Except for the 3 cores, 512mb D-Ram, and the rest of the tech specs. The market place was derived from windows market place. Their HDTV marketing, 5.1 surround sound, wireless controllers, and Gold Xbox Live, have all been done. The new layout of Xbox live is cool, but seriously, it's expected.

So, what does to jump from an Xbox 1, to an Xbox 360, do?
Well, let me put it like this. If you climbing a mountain, what is your goal? You want to get to the top. Your not going to quite, and climb the next one, untill you've conquered the one your on. Microsoft, has to get to the top of what the current technology can do, and then go to the next promising thing (or a taller mountain). This system, is microsofts attempt at getting to the top. The Xbox 1, was never intended to do this. Their goal with the Xbox 1, was to aquire a fan-base, and now, they can take it seriously, with the Xbox 360.

I'm putting this in a strange way, do you guys understand?

Edit
Yeah, graphics don't matter. The online game world is amazing, in every way.

hmm no telling, I'm sure some will be wanting to say Bungie with Halo 3, but wouldn't surprise me of some obscure developer pulls a surprise and comes out with some insane game that makes us all go into geek shock. Just have to wait and see since I dont dare guess this early

Yeah, what happend to 75% better?

Anyway, the first company to push this system to the max, will have to be owned by microsoft, or they would have to be a rich company. I would say that Square-Enix could do it, or just some company working under microsoft.

Watch, some small indi-dev comes up, and makes a game that blows us all away! I would laugh my A$$ off.

25% vs a high end computer with a 7800gtx. I notice details & graphical effects that i dont notice in a lot of high end PC games ( like the reflecting of water on roads, combined with bumpmapping ).

Gears Of Wars look to be the same level as F.E.A.R with here & there better graphical effects. But this is based mostly on the movies, and those are downsized & compressed vs F.E.A.R that was run on this pc widout downsizing & compression etc. So the jury is still out on that

For first generation games, dealing with a console where most developers had only access to the beta & final versions it for a short time ( compared to PC available hardware ), i think they did a nice job.

I expect the second generation to reach 50% vs the then current available PC hardware & games. At this moment a lot of development teams are learning how to optimized for the xbox360, and i bet that this expierence will be shared between development teams.

Just take a look at COD. When i first saw it, it looked so much like COD1 on the PC. I was disappointed. Yet, when you see the pictures & movie's now ( only a few months later ), the graphics have gotten way ... way better ( still some stuff like the mountens etc thats not well done but hey, they still have 2 month's to fix that ).

But, there are a few disappointing games also in the bunch, who look current or past generation pc like. Or look like xbox1 ports with some more graphics. That zombie game for one, just look at the fingers ... it are blocks ffs ... Definatly needs a lot of work.

And some titles just are so good, that people cant notice the difference between ingame & real pictures. Like PGR3, showing a screenshots to a clanmember ( one i picked out of a bunch, becouse it looked the most realistic ), and the guy dident notice it was ingame. It looked real to the naked eye widout a close examination.

I'm thinkin between 25-50%. because when you look at the screenshots, there is still minor fuzz.

It depends on the game. Unlike some people, I'm not impressed with the graphics on Dead Rising. I am impressed with Need for Speed and Project Gotham Racing 3 though.
