Posts: 2,344 | The Valve Thread Half Life 2:
- Half Life 2 was brilliant, but I didn't like Ravenholm too much.
- Didn't really like Half Life 2 Ep 1 too much, too many Ant Lions, felt like a chore.
- Half Life 2 Ep 2 is the best one by far, great new creatures and story, plus the final battle was the best.
For Team Fortress 2:
- One of the best online FPS's at the moment. Very original. Portal:
- The most innovative puzzle game at the moment, with incredible amusing dialogue and a smooth storyline. Counter Strike:
Was brilliant at first but then got old with many hackers and many skilled gamers. Left 4 Dead:
- Unfortunately this is only coming out for the PC, while I think it will still turn out great and Co-Op really sells it. What's more fun than a Co-Op zombie shooter? With multiplayer mode as well, I believe.
Post your thoughts on Valve's works.

Posts: 853 | always been a fan of Valve's work. Counter Strike was the first online game I got into back in the day, it was brilliant. But you are right hacks and cheats took over the game and pretty much ruined the game completely.
TF2 is loads of fun wish i got more time to play it, and the Half Life series is great fun.

Stop valves are used to shut off or, in some cases, partially shut off the flow of fluid. Stop valves are controlled by the movement of the valve stem. Stop valves can be divided into four general categories: globe, gate, butterfly, and ball valves. Plug valves and needle valves may also be considered stop valves. GLOBE VALVES.- Globe valves are probably the most common valves in existence. The globe valve derives its name from the globular shape of the valve body. However, positive identification of a globe valve must be made internally because other valve types may have globular appearing bodies. Globe valve inlet and outlet openings are arranged in several ways to suit varying BUTTERFLY VALVES.- The butterfly valve, one type of which is shown in figure 9-21 may be used in a variety of systems aboard ship. These valves can be used effectively in freshwater, saltwater, JP-5, F-76 (naval distillate), lube oil, and chill water systems aboard ship. The butterfly valve is light in weight, relatively small, relatively BALL VALVES.- Ball valves, as the name implies, are stop valves that use a ball to stop or start the flow of fluid. The ball (fig 9-22) performs the same function as the disk in the globe valve. When the valve handle is operated to open the valve, the ball rotates to a point where the hole through the ball is in line with the valve body inlet and outlet. When the valve is shut, which requires only a 90-degree rotation of the handwheel for most valves, the ball is rotated so

And yeah, Shane, HL2, Ep 2 and Portal are on my favorites list as well.
Also, one thing I'd like to add to Half Life 2 and the episodes is that it doesn't have much replay value, shane.

Posts: 2,674 | yeah, i didn't get the ravenholm part either. it was annoying, but not nearly as annoying as the stupid beach part with the ant bugs getting me the whole time. i didn't think that would ever end. and i didn't like the river part all that much. haven't tried the episodes yet...i wanted to beat the first game first. i made it through the beach to where you control the bugs and went through several of the posts on the beach there, then made it up into a mountain area fort, and that is where i stopped. how much more of the game is there? |

But the first four are pretty long. Don't get discouraged, though.

Posts: 1,579 | I never came across miss lollipop in GTA4 either.
I thought HL2 was very boring and the story was crappy as well. EP1 was boring, though EP2 was a big improvement and was somewhat enjoyable. I just didn't like how you didn't have a body and everything just floated around in the game. Portal was decent but hardly this game that's everyone built it up to be (a nice mini game but that's about it). Didn't play TF2 so no opinion on that since it was unplayable and buggy during the time I had rented OB from gamefly. |

Posts: 842 | orange box was literally the best 37 dollars i've spent on a game in a while. Some of the levels in hl2 are a little drawn out epi 1 and 2 are a nice addition to keep the story going and epi 2 is by far superior to 1. Portal kept me busy for a couple hours and still enjoy watching drunk friends try to figure out anything passed level 4.
Side note: anything on half life 3? i swear i read somewhere some news about it but haven't heard anything lately.
edit: possible portal gun use in the game....seriously that would be amazing. |

And yes they're most likely going to make a Half Life 2 Episode 3, then a Half Life 3. On Half Life 2 Episode 3 the setting will be in the arctic aboard the Borealis. You would know this if you beat Half Life 2 Episode 2.
