Angry Xbox Live erased achievements??

Played many hours co-op on Army of Two. Connected to Xbox live one night and downloaded a demo game. Played said demo for an hour, logged off Xbox live and never thought of it again. Recently had issues with wireless Xbox live connection which have now been fixed. Problem is that now MOST of my achievements in ALL of my games have been totally wiped out. I tried recovering my gamertag and they are not there either. Anyone else have this issue or have any suggestions? All of my achievements in Army of Two were co-op and that person's gamertag has been unchanged and their achievements are still in place. I am at a loss.

It's very rare for this to happen but it can happen. In this instance you are pretty much SCREWED because there is no real proof that you ever had those achievements.

You do have the option of calling up Xbox Customer support, getting transferred to the Xbox live department, and then telling them what happened but don't have any high expectations.

The final possibility I am thinking off if that Xbox live detected some kind of modding on your console or detected some kind of Achievement Cheating and erased the associated achievements.... I have heard of it happening but have no idea of how they detect or track it in prelude to deleting the achievements.....

If you were Cheating or Modding then you have met justice.

If you are Innocent then you have my Sympathy and should call Customer support...... AND ***** LIKE HELL.

let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for the lightning speed response. If I could cheat at achievements I would have done that a long time ago! And wouldn't have posted since I agree justice would have been met. I will give the ever so helpful customer service people a call (have had hatred for them since the xbox live connection issues started) and see what happens. Am afraid to have friend login to xbox live for fear they will wipe her achievements too.... that's my only evidence! More to follow....

nice compassion shane. and you missed a golden opportunity to sway her over to the dark side of the PS3.

i've heard of people having their hard drives erased (with achievements) by Microsoft when they sent in their systems for repairs, but don't believe i've heard of anyone getting their stuff back. Elder's right. call them up and give them an earfull and see what they can do to make you a happy customer.

oh man, i am sold. if i lost my achievements, which i can do nothing with, i would totally switch to the flawless ps3.

well, jenjen, look at the bright side, you get to play all your old favorites again! hopefully you didn't have a whole lot of super hard ones, like beating COD3 on veteran. that isn't fun, that is just work.

i've never even heard of losing achievements before, but if i lost mine i don't really think i'd care

before i got a 360 i thought that gamerpoints were MS points...then i found out i had to pay for stinking gamerpics etc

So, thanks for the sympathy people.... it's not about the achievements on Army of Two. It's about the WEAPONS. Along with achievements come $$ and that buys BIG GUNS. Whatever, I am over it. Especially with the email responses from Xbox "Support" -- I don't even want to repeat them here but they were pretty funny. First one said I probably signed in under a guest account. Second one said basically tough sh$t, start over. The last one basically said we can't help you, so stop writing to us, wench. Guess the friend will just have to play with the crappy gun and no armor. Serves 'em right for sniping me in the back a few times "accidentally".
