Posts: 5 | I think MS stood out more this year. Nintendo basically didn't show up. Nothing on the games front did much for me from Sony, but it wasn't bad either. Sony does have a couple exclusives worth looking at. The Sony video service sounds pretty good, but they're a little late to the party with this. Since I'm a Netflix member, the MS deal with Netflix for me is outstanding. For those that aren't Netflix members or who don't want to be, this won't mean much.
I'm actually looking forward to quite a few games that MS showed. Not much into Final Fantasy, but that's a huge deal for many. I loved Oblivion, so for MS to secure exclusive right to the DLC for Fallout 3 is great. Looking forward to the exclusive DLC for GTA IV. Fable 2 looks great. As does Gears 2 and Halo Wars. Too Human is growing on me. While not exclusive, Resident Evil 5, Farcry 2, Force Unleashed, Prince of Persia, Dead Space, and Project Origin all look like keepers. I prefer the 360 version of the multiplatform titles anyway, since for the most part they perform better, have better online play, and have achievements. Banjo Kazooie might turn out to be a fun game and Left 4 Dead sound interesting. Both of which you can't find on the PS3. Nor can you find the new Portal XBLA exclusive game on the PS3.
The new Xbox interface shows promise as well. All in all, I'd say pretty solid, if you're an Xbox owner, average if you're a PS3 owner, and "what happened to Nintendo?", if you're a Wii owner. |
