Actually - I don't usually enjoy sports games either but I've always loved NHL since the Nintendo 8-bit days.

It's only fun if you're playing someone else though - personal opinion.

NHL and FIFA are the only two sports games i have ever played. NHL 94' for the sega was incredible. fifa 94' or 95' for gamegear i used to play all day long lol. either way i agree they can get really boring playing against the computer. Two things have improved longevity of sports games for me. Obviously xbox live, being able to face off against a human opponent 24/7 is a huge plus. Second tho would be the addition of achievements, and i am in no way an achievement whore...just look at my sig. But i really like the challenge of trying to accomplish something really specific in a sports game. For instance UEFA 2008 had an achievement to score in the first 12 seconds of the opening half of the FINALS game. well i had to play a whole tournament, and then once i reached the finals it was severals attempts before i came even close. Stuff like that keeps me playing. i almost got the full 1k on nhl 07.

The old 8-bit NHL is one of my favorite games from that time! Great, great game!

I think soccer is probably the most fun co-op sports game though. Much better than football, since you can never be on the same page as the person you're playing with. And there aren't many other sports you can play on the same team with your friend.

I want GoW2, Prince of Persia, Fable 2, Fallout 3, and The Last Remnant. I may want to try out Banjo too.

I'm not feelin' real strongly about Banjo. This is really a load of crap. They need to stick to what server them in the past. Platforming. Not Racing. Not vehicular combat.

Yeah. As a fan of previous Banjo gameplay, I'm kinda dissapointed with their choice in gameplay, but as a fan of the series, I just can't resist trying it at least once.

I mean, when I think about Banjo Kazooie, I remember flying around with the bird, making tricky jumps, and doing puzzles or what have you. It just seems like there will almost certainly be better games that that this year.

lol that gretzky game for the n64... i think it was 3 on 3. was so awesome too. hockey games have been classic for so long. nhl 09 comes out wednesday. It won't be any different. i'm so addicted to the demo.

i was getting frusterated that i couldn't score.. i was scoring maybe 1 or 2 goals per 4 or 5 games. then i noticed the demo is only on pro or allstar difficulty. can't wait to rip through osgood on amateur after he's stopped over 150 of my gorgeous shots.
