Default Xbox ****ed

My Xbox 360 Elite (which was supposed to have no problems) is officially ****ed. I sent it in a while back, and they ****ing sent it back to me... saying the warranty was voided! I never touched the case or anything like that at all, I think it was Bestbuy but OMG I don't know what to do now... anyone know how I can BS MS? Or maybe I can say I got RRoD, I just don't know... I want a new one and I am just so pissed right now because I paid good money on this machine and Microsoft just gave me a barely working copy... and how the **** can they tell if it is voided anyways? Thank you...

is it possible.. that perhaps bestbuy cracked it open, maybe a refurb that was put back on store shelves? my advice would be to take the machine and receipt to bestbuy and have them call ms on their own behalf and see if they can arrange getting it fixed. ive had great experience with bestbuy and if they are unable to get the ball rolling, i am willing to bet they will just give you a new system. the worst that can happen i guess is they tell you no, and ms doesn't cooperate and you'd have to buy a new 360, if thats what you wanted to do after that point.

What's the power rating on your power supply - 175w or 203w?

second - what exactly is wrong with your machine?

thirdly - have you used an intercooler or something like that?

Sounds Like U Got The Broken One I Returned Hahahahahahah....seriously My Elite Went Out And Microsoft Fixed It Free....so I Guess Maybe U Got One That Someone Tried To Fix And Couldnt So They Returned It And Got A New One.alot Of People I Know That Has Had A 360 Break,they Just Go To A Store Buy A New One And Put There Broken Back In The New Box And Return It...simply So They Dont Have To Wait A Couple Weeks To Get There Sytems Back....simply Put Microsoft Should Just Change The Warranty To If U Get Rrod U Could Just Return It In Exchange For A New One...as Much Money That We Put Into This Machine Why Should We Have To Wait A Couple Weeks To Get Back To Gaming.....

2. It gives me an "Unplayable Disc" error, or sometimes "Open Tray", or even sometimes "Play DVD", when a Xbox 360 game is in.

i kept my reciept. and the box. and all the packaging for my console. it makes sense when 3 out of 4 people who owned a 360 when they came out had to return them.

It was vertical for the entire time, then it started overheating so I put it horizontal for like 1 month. Then this happened

It was probably the vertical position that buggered it - optical drives of any type should always be used horizontally - I don't care what anyone says.

hey man i too bought an elite a year ago hoping it wouldn't RR but 2 weeks ago it did. first i had checkered freezes then wouldn't load at all. classic 3 RROD. for several reasons i didn't want to send mine to MS so did my own fix. used the "lawdawg" method off of xbox-scene forums and worked like a charm. been over a week and works perfectly. too bad your problem seems like its in the drive. my only advice is complain, complain, complain.... lot of times they'll help you out just to shut you up.
